Hey guys,

As I'm getting a bit fed up with Netherlands, I've decided to go for a few months to Malaysia (or any other beautiful place) while continuing IM. Need someone on the inside to nudge me in the direction where to find an decently priced apartment near a nice beach and with nightlife. Don't want to do it through these English websites since they overprice. Don't want that tourist shit.

Also, having spend a long time in Amsterdam, something that is more nature friendly would be preferable. Help me while the impulse lasts. Want to leave in May or June.

Boracay Island in Philippines is what you looking for. white sand beach and night life

Thanks for the suggestions, but my question is more about how I can go about finding house/apartment without having to stay in a hotel. Sublet directly from a native, if you know what I mean. Like, I bet it's way cheaper (and sometimes) better to find apartments in the native language rather than going on these touristic American websites. Am I correct?

mmm I have no idea about this though :/

Thanks dude, but I'm not looking for a hotel. I'm looking for a spacious apartment that I got through sublet. More bang for your buck.

Hello, i'm from belgium and i'm going to travel to china in september for a month. I will be staying in hostels most of the time. They are cheaper than hotels. See a website full of hostels at: http://www.hostels.com/

It will be interesting to stay a few days in a hostel before searching for an apartment to rent locally. I think you will have better luck this way because prices will be cheaper and you can actually see the appartment first.

Yeah, good one.

Stay away from Malaysia. Heading north to Thailand or south to Bali but not Malaysia.

1.) Its an Islamic country, so the population doesn't party.
2.) Alcohol is super expensive, see #1, its against their religion.
3.) No hot chicks since they all like to wear head scarves and burkas.
4.) The Indians, Malays, and Chinese all hate each other; so much so that they have 1Malaysia ads around town to promote harmony.
5.) Terrible public transit system in KL. Terrible.
6.) SLOWEST INTERNET IN ALL OF SE ASIA. <== this one's the killer.

-Been in Malaysia since January 2015.

Haha thanks, I've actually decided to Thailand after doing further research. Your post only verifies it. Been to Thailand? What place do you recommend there?
