Worth to create an amazon site with low priced items?

I've been reading many threads here about amazon from danny, THE SEO, DearSanta and some others but I've just got this one question in my mind..

I've already choosen a niche about a month ago, I even did keyword research and had already written an article for this new website that I got started with.. it's low competetition and one of the top results is amazon which shouldn't be hard to beat, and there's only one website that's aiming for this niche as well everything else is walmart, and some stores of the kind.. but here's the thing..

Even if I were to rank for all these specific keywords that's an accumulated 4,340 monthly searches(only showing these).. (other keywords are about 40k monthly searches, and 200k monthly and whatnot, not specific to buying but in my niche)

Is it worth it to have this niche with products from amazon that only ranges from $15 - $30, there are also $100+ items but they're huge orders that only stores would buy.. I also know about the cookie and whatnot, but I've been worried about the low percentage of commision with amazon.

I will still try it with this niche but I was wondering if anyone could give me their insights as to if they came through this issue before.

If you can turn a profit after your expenses and time, it is worth it. If it is not, then it is not worth it. It sounds like you alreadu did the work, so you only have the cost aspect left.

If it is not worth your time, I know it would be to someone not doing as well in IM.

In my opinion, I do not like to go after items under 20. This depends on niche, but some products, lets say books, do not get a lot of extra items via cookies. Someone does not typically buy a TV and a book. But they may buy a toy for a child and a TV. You may make a good amount of 'extra' money in your niche. No way for any of us to know without revealing your niche. But the 4% adds up if you are selling TV Adapters or a modem and someone decided to buy a TV. Some products just do not have those opportunities.

Humm, I can see that being the truth.. depending on the niche of course just as you said..

I'm in a sub-sub-sub-sub food niche. lol

It isn't worth it if you're targeting a four-figure per month income. It is worth it, if all you are interested in is breaking even and making a decent amount of cash.
