Critique My IG Strategy

OK peeps, I'd like to get some honest constructive criticism of my plan.

I own a vacation rental property on ABC Beach in the US. It's a fairly popular beach in the US but I do not see any IG accounts that have more than 10K followers that relate to it.

My plan started on 5/1 which I opened an acct called ABCbeach....... I'm using FL to follow the followers of a couple of the larger related accounts. My profile has a link to my website ABCbeach.... and the site is mobile ready. I've seen a handful of web visits each day.

As of 5/6 I'm nearing 500 followers. I've posted 13 photos with a small caption and four hashtags on each. I'm now getting 25 - 30 likes per photo and maybe 2 comments each.

I see a potential to target the followers of XYZbeach, 123beach etc ... in the future once I saturate ABC.

The goal is to create some brand awareness of my website ABCbeach..... I'd hope to offer an occasional discount code to followers to attract rentals. One rental would more than cover the cost of FL.

Other than the $68 I spent on FL, my time on this has been pretty minimal. I google search various pics each day relating to ABCbeach from my phone, save them and post them up 2X a day spread out over 4 - 8 hrs. So simple to do.

FL is following 300 - 400 users per day and I just started unfollowing today at about the same rate. I run FL from 10AM - 8 PM daily.

One thought is that "if" this really took off, I could offer "advertising space" on my website for other owners in our complex. We have 900+ condos in our resort and approx 25% of us rent on our own via vrbo.

So what do ya think? I figure, you can't catch a fish if your line is not in the water.

It's a solid idea. I would be careful with your follow/unfollow strategy as it could turn off some future rentals if you unfollow them. Seems stupid but I've seen people get really upset over it in the past. Maybe once you have a solid base following just like pictures with the tag ABCbeach... with FL ofc. I get away with 1400 likes a day with no issues so far.

Couple of tips:

Try using the location feature in IG to target people nearby aswell.
Don't follow and unfollow on the same day. Only do one at a time as you could get banned.
Find a way to collect emails from your visitors.

What I'd advise you to do is make 1-2 more accounts and set those up as well just to be perfectly safe. If all goes ok you can use them to boost your main account, if anything were to happen to your main account you still have backups.

Like everyone said: dont unfollow potential customers. How to do that? Use the dont unfollow followers functio

Exactly what BlueWaterLover said. I do it manually though, so it's harder
to leave the usual likers of pictures in the followers section but I still do it.
They're my biggest supporters, they deserve it.

i find ppl on instagram arent serious they just like, a pic barely even look at it, in thinka facebook page or advisertise on a property rental site would be better IMO like home away or something

Hi I like your approach. You can put banners on your site as you said, you can add images (directly into your Insta feed) of your customers properties and put additional charge.

Perhaps you can make a small site which aggregate all the venues. With the help of the site you can act like an affiliate. You can work on % basis or flat fee. You can upsell, by selling banners to the existing clients of your directory, also you can start building a mail list from that site and many more. If you put enough effort I believe that you can turn this into sweet business.

I already do that. IG is just another tool in the toolbox to use. With FollowLiker, it's so easy to build a base of followers.

As far as effectiveness, I wont know for sure until I build a large follower base.

I like the way you are thinking. Time will tell. For the small investment I made, it's worth a trial to see where this goes.

That's true but it's your job to engage them to a point where they'll take action

Read a few psychology books. It'll give you a better understanding of what makes a person "tick".

Agreed completely. It's your job to make them engage and get them to click the link in the bio. If done correctly it can be a solid source of leads

Very true and that is part of the testing process. Eventually, I'll try posting with some sort of "call to action" verbiage.
