I think I've worked out why these offers hit the limits so quickly.

When AlpNames did the .science offer, not many people new about it, so a lot of us managed to get 10 of those freebies each.

This time though, they emailed all those customers with the new offers - so there must have been a mad rush to grab them.

This is why sites are doing things similar to this giveaway.
People get interested & decide to even pay cents/dollars when they thought/planned/selected a domain.
It is a win-win situation for the website, hopefully for the client as well.

Was able to pick up a couple an hour ago for free - weird extension but for free? I'll take it!
I have some ideas to test out, but I don't honestly see myself renewing them, will see in a years time

I just discovered the same thing - it is definitely still working.

I think the limit is 5 domains per account - I hit the coupon limit at that point.
