Hello Black Hat Community !

I'm an ebay seller, have been selling on the plateform for about a year now.
I'm doing decent margins and profits nowadays, and of course have to deal from time to time with a mean customer.

I'm drop shipping, I don't hold any inventory and for now I'm happy with my results. However, I'd like to be VERY happy with my results. You see, I know I can sell more per day than what I'm currently doing. And that can only be achieved via good titling.

Some of you guys here are SEO legends and I was wondering if you could help me out figuring out what I could bring into my business to surpass its current level. What SEO tools should I use ? How to use them ? Where could I look for buyers-keywords, etc..

I want to know this because until now, I have been the quantity over quality guy. Meaning I'd list a whole lot of items, only to sell 1-2% of all active items. And that's a losing strategy !

Thank you !

Of course, to bring value to the whole community I would be more than happy to provide assistance and answer some questions about the ebay drop shipping modele although there are lots of threads about it.

I've been using Terapeak and there is an option that lets you build your title. Lets say for example you're selling coffee...you put that into the listing builder and then its populates all the keywords associated with that word and how many searches there have been. Maybe this is something you can look into.

By the way, I'm a newbie ebay seller and have currently been purchasing liquidation/ closeouts however the margins arent great. I would love to know which dropshipping service you're using or any info you can share. Thanks.

I have heard good things about Terapeak, but if everyone uses the same service there won't be any added value nor any differenciation.
Plus, are they really buyers-keywords? Have you seen a real change when you started using the service ?
If you have, then I surely am wrong

I'm not using a drop shipping service. It's just the basic Azon to eBay thing. I always try to land items at $35 or more for free shipping while trying to make a $3 to $10 in profit a sale.
There are however some gold items where I have made $200 a sale on Amazon to eBay alone ! You just have to dig deep

That's why I would love to have a differenciation factor. If everybody lists the same coffee maker with the same description and overall same generic titles, it's not very interesting !

Anyone ?
This could evolve into a very interesting thread people !

People who are not using terrapeak is at a disadvantage, since if give you much insight into what the successful sellers are doing.

Id just keep changing the titles of the items that don't sell. I don't think there's much to the ebay seo anyway, I sell an item where I get around 90% of sales because I use the word ''and' instead all the others use '&'.

Toml3030 and Dondada7, are you guys selling your own stuff en eBay or also drop shipping ?

Dondada7: How much time do you give a listing to sell before ending it ? It seems to me like some items just don't sell although their titles have been changed many times

I am not a big fan of dropshipping if what you want to do on eBay is long term.

It seems to me like some items just don't sell although their titles have been changed many times

If there is no demand for your item, SEO optimization isn't going to help you.

I agree toml3030, however those same items are being sold by other sellers who have the same or less optimised titles (Have great feedback score, though)

I let it run through the full 30 days

1. A lot of those mass sellers are based in China, and can survive making as little as 20 cents per item sold. Can you do that?

2. SEO doens't help you if eBay's Cassini search placement doesn't like you. You could have the greatest SEO in the world and you will still get shitty placement if your sales and sellthrough isn't good.

I don't know where you are looking, but I've found plenty of drop shippers that are based in the US. The Chinese drop shippers are easy to spot. There's plenty of US drop shippers that are using the Amazon to eBay model that are making bank.

In regards to eBay SEO, I dont think you understand what cassini does.

Read this article it is relevant to all of us and should be held to the highest priority

Their #1 tip is title optimization

The key word here is "relevant search results". One of the reasons why they dumped the old search algorithm was that people were stuffing unrelated keywords into titles to improve their search results and Cassini rewards titles that gets into FEWER more specific search results and takes into consideration the account's sales and sellthrough, like I keep saying. From the article "Before Cassini sellers built listing titles that got into as many searches as possible. After Cassini this is a bad idea. Cassini uses sales performance, not just keywords to decide what to show"

A few things you want to consider....

1. SEO is fairly useless when trying to sell more on eBay. Your time is best spent building up your eBay rank and feedback (quality score). The better your score and feedback the higher eBay will rank your items within its search listings.

2. Arbitraging (selling from one marketplaces to another) IS A NUMBERS GAME! So you're doing it right. Find items to sell as fast as possible and list them even faster. That....along with having automation tools like http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/misc/815223-profit-spy-worlds-most-powerful-ebay-amazon-arbitrage-tool-overnight-profits.html and http://priceyak.com/ to do all the heavy lifting for you is imperative to make the most $$$ from the time you spend.

3. Want to make more, but your already maxing out your monthly account limits? Create or buy more eBay Stealth accounts. Be cautious when first using these new accounts and slowly build them up using the same software I mentioned above.

The key to dropshipping on eBay AKA retail arbitrage is selling as many high profit items as you can and automating this process to the best of your ability. There are soooo many great tools out there to use, that this should never be a problem.

I understand this is purely a numbers game. But, what do you do when your sourcing from a place like Amazon that has policies like quantity and purchase limits in place?

http://www.theinternetpatrol.com/ab...-limit-policy-you-didnt-know-you-lived-under/

How are the big sellers like The Honey Roasted Peanut with 50k+ listings on eBay getting around that? Multiple accounts? There's no way, with that many orders you would need a more streamlined process than just creating multiple Amazon accounts which is a surefire way to get banned on Amazon like that article I linked to above states.

So what's the solution when you start getting big orders everyday?

Hello Snakeeyes,

No need to get worried over something that never happens bud. I have not once, in my 3+ years of flipping products had a limit on the number of Amazon products I can order. That is simply because I do not typically order over 3 products at one time. Why would I? Your NOT going to get a seller who orders from you in bulk. It just doesn't happen. The most I receive from one particular buyer at a time is around 3 and that typical;lly only happens during the holidays.

I may sell an XYZ item 8 times in a week, but they are ordered from different buyers at different times. The amazon restriction is only setup for those who want to purchase 10+ of the same item, all at once. This is not the game we play here.

This is simply not true. There are limitations on Amazon items even at 1-3 purchases.

Snake,

From my knowledge, I've almost been doing Amazon to eBay for 2 years now. The only way around this is to create more Amazon Accounts. If you don't want to do this, then remove the limited quantity items on eBay. That's my best advice. If you want to streamline, remove limited quantity items. They are problematic.

I've sold items on eBay like a year ago for many years, what always helped me to become the most popular seller in my niche are... The images. I always tried to create images with the best contrast and tried to put my USP in the preview title. I think my bounce rate were quite low (not sure if ebay cares about that anyway)

To make sales into your product.

You should invest in SEO and backlinks.

Although ebay has crazy traffic, you should get a first look by the buyer heat.

So they immediately buy your product.

I use fiverr and seoclercks for seo and backlinks

keywords aint everything, try not to use stock photos like all the other dropshippers- search google for non stock photos - my 2 cents good thread tho
