What keyword research tools are people using these days?

Hello all,
I am just getting back into IM after stopping my projects for a while due to work.

I have recently set up a product reviews website and am looking for some decent keywords, however it seems as if most of the software these days is rubbish.

My usual method of keyword research is done by using the Google keyword planner and SEO quake to analyse the competition, however I am looking for a piece of software (paid of free) which cuts out some of the work for me by giving me a REAL keyword difficulty score.

I tried Traffic Travis and it seems to return wrong keyword scores and Market Samurai gives me a bunch of data which is unnecessary to me.

Could anybody recommend me a good piece of software for me to use as it seems like they are all rubbish these days lol.

Forgot to mention, I am not looking for a quick, lazy shortcut to keyword research, as I understand that in depth analysis is important, however I would like a piece of software which when I input a list of keywords it will give me a proper difficulty score. At the moment I have to work through lists of keywords and analyse each one, however if I had a no bs difficulty score then I could save time as I would only bother with in-depth analysis on the keywords which the software identifies as easy.

Long Tail Pro is a well-known software these days. I don't use it though. I'm perfectly fine with Google Keyword Tool and a bit of Google search.

+1 for semrush. I used to use GA, but them censoring out all the good info has ruined it for everyone.

Semrush, Long Tail Pro, Market Samurai and of course the free Adwords Keyword Planner are the ones used nowadays. Semrush is monthly charge while the rest are not. But it is also the most extensive and best for keyword and competition research. You can find a lot of LSI and related keywords too with it.
