Wordpress plugin hack

Hi, I am selling a website to a client, but don't want him to know its a wordpress theme. Some of the plugins link back to the author website on the installed plugins page. I tried changing the author uri link, in plugins editor, that removes the link in the installed plugins page, but breaks the website. How can i change the author uri, without breaking the website.

any advice?

Hey Xblink, I can help you... Just forward the plugin link or zip file i will try to remove the footprint for you..

Some free plugins make it must that there is a link back to the authors website. You will have to fiddle with the codes to make sure it works even after the link is removed. Also, try to remove all footprints, and may be delete the admin dashboard or so. You should also take care of the link structure. like, the images will be blahblah.com/WP-CONTENT/blah blah

So many things to be taken care of.

Your going to have to find where it does the check for the link and remove it. That's about the only way i can think of.

Browse the whole code. When you remove the link, there's a check somewhere to see if the link exists. You need to remove that check!
