Domain name suggestion.

Ok guys i would like to get some domain name suggestions for my friend. He's gonna start a website where he shares random technology related posts(Which he personally encounters day to day..i.e a place where he shares any new stuff he learns about technology). His name .com and .me is taken. Should he go to his name.io because i think that should suit better as it is only himself who is gonna run it and since io is tech related right. But he says he has a free .me coupon so getting a free .me domain initially would help him jump start(i recommended not to go behind the coupon) but well he still prefers to use the .me coupon if possible. But even then .com sell for 1$ so even that should be great considered the costly .io Ok i understand the value of the domain but well he prefers to start cheap and i'm not able to convince him in this. So any recommendation? Something his name.me or hisname something.me would be ok? What do you recommend guys? I think having his name in the domain would be better than a brand name as it'll ad a personal touch .. Or any other domain name recommendations without his name we you think would be awesome is also ok! Shoot me some suggestions...

Keep it .com if he wants it to be professional looking. If he wants to use a variation of his own name and make it brandable then a nice 5 to 6 letter domain (No numbers or dashes!!) will be easy to find.

All those other domains are nice, but today people still like seeing that .com on the end of a web address. Trust me, do .com and 301 all his other domains to it.

yeah get a brand-able .com instead.

If he is starting out with no history of anything he can name the site whatever he wants, no need to deviate from .com in that respect.

Rankings won't be affected much but traffic could as people naturally type in .com when going to a website.

You could go the expired domain route as well if you are just starting out to find a domain you like.

Well he can go with any tld but as said above .com is a professional tld . If he still wants to go with his name.tld then I would recommend him to go with his country tld you can see one of famous sites like Matthewwoodward.co.uk
