Letter from twitter antispam team

I don't think it's a fake mail. Just check the email headers, get the IP address from where the mail came from and use this site to do a reverse check the IP to find the domain it is associated with.

If it's really from twitter, don't reply anything and just ignore it until they send you another one.

Wow if you think about it that's not a bad strategy. If it's just a scare tactic they send out to discourage this sort of activity and they actually have no legal standing then they're going to just give up. If it's for real then they will most likely send you a second letter. Replying now put you in a weaker position. nice

The server is from Hostgator so yes.

The website really was not that big AT ALL.. i sold an order of followers maybe 1 time every 1-3 weeks... really not that big sums at ALL

I promoted the site by loading 16 000 twitter users that have the option to get DM'ed by anyone and barraged them of my website.
I was doing a SEO for 600$ but aborted it yesterday due to this letter.. they made me keyword research and everything, so basically 600$ down the drain..

It is easy to look up my info. If you make a whos - (mywebsite) you will find my mail there.
Also, there is a "PayPal" payment button when you purchase the order which displays my email there too.




Is it possible to fake the headers in a mail?

For instance, is it possible to forge the:

X-Sender,

X-mail_abuse_inquiries,

X-SFDC-EmailCategory,

X-SFDC-EntityId,

Message-ID ?

When I looked it up, it said it was from San Fransisco, which is where twitter is located.

Is this all possible to forge?

Don't these social media sites usually only go after the ones that are actually mass creating the fake accounts?

Assuming you're reselling Twitter followers from another supplier, I always thought that was 100% legal.

Stop pissing in your pants. No one will take any action as it costs XXXk$ to sue you over the sea (since you're from Europe) not to mention I assume you're not the kind of guy doing hardcore spam.
Remove the website as per request, get a new domain and clone your site. Don't forget to spin your shit with short URLs or use cloacking next time if you spam someone.

Overall suggestions for you,
1) Stop spamming and start doing legimate traffic sources.
2) If you still decided to spam learn how to do it so you won't need to come and cry about it later.

The first 2 times, twitter banned all of my accounts. But then I ressurrected new accounts, with new API credentials and started again.

The third time after they banned me, I received this mail. So it is in correlation with the banning.
Is that considered hardcore spam?

I am not 100% sure but i remember facebook suing someone at rate of $50 per spam message sent to the users inbox on facebook. So yes if twitter goes the same way, you owe them $800k buddy

Problem is not that you are selling followers, problem is that you are spamming twitter users and these companies take that very seriously.

I dont think that is really what they do..

If you have ever been around Twitter, and joined followchains, then you can only brace yourself from the barrage of spam.

I dont think it is scalable.

From my past experience most these emails are real,

if you are ranking #1 in google for buy twitter followers, twitter followers then there is a slight chance that it could be competitor, but if your traffic is generated through twitter spam that means you have no competitor , which means that the email is most probably real.

Did you get a piece of letter in the mail? No? Then do not worry about it. You took the website down, and more than likely you wont have any other issues. If they didnt serve you any physical mail, then you are fine.
