Hong Kong + Adsense Earnings

Hi,

Does anybody here have experience in setting up an offshore Hong Kong company for adsense earnings to go into?

I currently reside in the UK and am considering my options.

Mostly due to the HK financial system being extremely robust - HSBC is a good bank to set up with. The 0% tax rate and transparent accountancy laws makes it very appealing. Having a HK address, I believe, looks better than a Malta/Belize etc equivalent, although I'd still be happy incorporating in these places. I'm actually going out to Hong Kong in the summer, so thought it'd be a good time to meet the bank and get everything sorted. I'd be drawn more to HK, but as I said in the OP, I'm happy to consider all options I understand you're extremely knowledgeable in this field, so I'm sure I'm missing something!

Regardless how you decide, you may go to a HK bank an pen an account while you are there. They require personal visit, so it is a good chance to get some banking with HSBC.

Other than that, I would consider something different than HK for company formation and your use. You could either do it the very easy way as most are doing, inc. a Belize or Seychelles corp, it's cheap and fast or you could incorporate in the BVI or Cyprus, the latter requires accounting and filing of tax, however, there could be tax benefits while you are in the UK.

It's actually not complicated what you want to do.

May I ask where you recommend opening a bank if incorporating in Belize etc? I'm presuming Cyprus would be the best bet? I've heard HSBC in HK have been turning companies based in the BVI away due to them being deemed "high risk".

Cyprus (I can already hear people scream) - Mauritius, St.Vincent, Anguilla and a few other places are valid options.

Make sure you do this silently because all Google has to do is slap your account without notice and taxation issues is one major reason they shut or cut you off.

Sooo wrong... they don't charge any income tax on a corporate account! Actually they don't charge any tax on a corporate account!

Cyprus charges 20% income tax isn't it?

I know it's been getting harder and harder to get Adsense accounts in Singapore... probably Hong Kong will have a similar treatment. GL with that!

Yes you can. You have to use your local agent's address (or other third party address) on your Cyprus bank statement. You have to sign up for Paypal (first time) through paypal cy (cyprus account) and eventually provide your bank statement as proof of address.
Note: one requirement is that you also sell in Cyprus (worldwide is suffficient) or have a director positioned in cyprus. Or make one page on your site with shipping information to cyprus or something, though not necessary.

However you can only withdraw up to 750 euro per day to your V I S A (not master card) direct debit card which is tied to your account.

For those of you with adsense accounts, do you know if the incorporation certificate is required for a corp. account. I am curous for a case of an offshore in one country with banking elsewhere. Suppose there is a branch in the same country as the bank. (supposing)
I know they only pay out to a bank in the same country, but this has no impact if they don't wire to the country in question. Snail mail only in this case. So it is important that the address for the corp is the banking country not the incorporation country so the check ends up in the right place and in the right currency.
