I need tips on how to monetize the shit out of it, I'm getting it from a friend who cannot be bothered running it anymore XD, he has looked after it very poorly and i will need help bringing it back up to its full potential.
Anyone that can help me, post anything!!

Thanks BHW.

That's a big fan page. You can probably create a video site with adsense ads on it to make money. Every day search youtube for some amazing, shocking, funny etc videos and post on your site with ads right next to it. Now share the video on your page so you might get free traffic to your site from your page.

BTW would you be willing to sell it. I am also looking for established, active fb pages.

Do you know how much visitors can you bring with one post?
This is very important, don't look at how much likes an image gets, that is not so important. If you can't drive lot of visitors to a site its will be hard to monetize it.
You can promote products or promote someone else for $.

First question- What is the page about?

It is a comedy based page specific to the country i am from, which is New Zealand, which i feel will make it alot harder because it probably cant blow up internationally very easily rofl, its a comedy page about things only a person from NZ would understand.

Don't try to monetize it with videos only..make sure that every post on your site has a minimum of 300 words...otherwise your adsense might get a ban hammer.

Rather go with different ad networks, taboola, content.ad etc.

Unless it is a niche where you can sell items.

Ah I'm from NZ I think I know this page. :)

my inside knowledge of fan pages is rather limited, but what i can tell you that reaching your fans will decrease sooner and sooner. i recommend trying to keep them on another platform like your own website or to build something longer term like an email

fb has the visits, but you will eventually pay to play on their ecosystem

charge bloggers money to post their funny links on your page.

Use you popularity to sell products your own products or partner up with someone willing to pay you for posts. For example, sell comedic t-shirts (really obvious example but use your imagination).

Create a channel on Youtube and promote on that fanpage will bring back a huge profit for you.
