Sound a vague question I know. My daughter run a website and is fairly popular for the time its been up, she has got endorsements from a celebrity and all is good, but how can she take it to the next level.

The website is a non-profit so cash injection may be an issue, but would love to hear what you guys think.

Although non-profit - she may have some investment within the next few months, but she does not want to invest in to Adwords as she not sure if a ROI.

Whats the point of growing a website if you don't plan to profit from it. Anyhow there is no secret formula for taking a website and turning it into the next ebay, at least none that anyone would be willing to share.

ebay wasn't like most lamers who throw up a stupid WP blog and throw up the same rehashed $.50 cent article junk up and call themselves a blaaaahger.

ebay created their own market. There was nothing like ebay on the Internet when it started.

Yes exactly, the point is there. It got big cause there was no other! Not because they put quality stuff on it.Quality had nothing to do with it.They simply had no competition.

Try it now...buy the most expensive stuff, can't take u anywhere.

With no investment it is going to be hard,if you offer something unique...something new, than it can be done.

I use ebay myself here and there for online sales and alternatives are always an interesting way to roll to try to see if there's other places you can go to, to try 'em out and see if they work.

I used to use this site called Yardsellr, but apparently they ended up going under. It was interesting in the fact that you could actually comment on auctions/listings.

it's really hard question but you can do with your hard work. you can spend more amount as much as you can. add more account to your sites. do more IM and SMM activities. congrats

It's difficult but places like Ebay would have had an idea, worked hard at it. Pushed their idea out to sponsors and worked from there. It's all about having a solid idea that people will see potential in and working from there.

I disagree with the bolded part. Quality had something with it. Imagine they launched a product, completely new, and people started using it, because there wasn't a similar product on the market. But the product was a complete shit - would the users stick to it?

So, ebay maybe didn't have an interstellar quality, but it had enough quality to make users continue using it.
