Selling hardware replicas with different look

Hey,

I need some help by you guys. I found an electronic item in China, which I can sell on eBay (or somewhere else) for the tripple price. It's a replica but with a different look and without any logos on it but it works with the same Software like the original. The software is cracked. It's a real goldmine because there are even many searches on Google without any competitors. So, that I could even build a website with a little shop for it.

I know that I can't sell the cracked software with the product but what if I just put a "How to find and install the software" manual in the package?

Can I use terms like "works like xxx" (like the original) in the description?
Could I get any legal problems with the product even when it looks different?
How does it look with the trick with the manual?

No. You can not use the brand name "xxx" anywhere in your listing if you want to avoid the VERO hammer.

Complex question to answer, but in general whether you violate something is based on its utility, not how it looks.

How does it look with the trick with the manual?

The problem with this is that you will be reported for selling fakes...a LOT. And if it's a real popular item, you will attract scammers who will report that you are selling fakes so they can force a refund and keep the item.

I will probably sell this fakes on something like craiglist in my country.
There is in my opinion lower hussle.
The cool thing is, that the craiglist with the item is on the first place on Google.
So, all visitors of Google will visit craiglist and will see my items.

I'm now thinking about how it's possible to stay "anonymous" when reciving the money.
I don't want to get in legal problems. Any ideas?

It sounds very risky... I think small sales is okay but if it sells a lot you probably will get sued.
