Hello, I'm reading this forum since 2009, have tested almost everything that internet marketing can offer me. At the moment I'm on the IG train. Let me share with you how I grow accounts. I will also have few questions that people with "higher level" accounts than me can answer. Excuse me for my poor English, I will do my best.
My main account is 4 months old and have 20k real and 2k real looking followers. The rest 5 accounts ( in same niche as main account ) are supporting. So this is how I started:
Bought followliker bot, 2k real looking followers and 4 proxies.
Main account settings from the beginning:
Follow: 250 - 800, delay 30 - 110 sec
Unfollow: 270 - 820, delay 30 - 110 sec
Comments: 30 - 90, delay 80 - 200 sec
Like: 100 - 200, delay 30 - 70
General Settings: Automation Interval 7 - 11 minutes
Use shuffle tasks - always! Do NOT runt the bot 24/7, I run it for 10-12 hours. Also skip 2-3 days every month - not turning it on, just for extra security. If you run the bot 24/7 Instagram see a pattern at your account activity.
Now don't think ever for a second that I randomly came up with those settings. Me (like most of you) have my fails, blocks and even bans. I have "testing" accounts, checking the limits weekly, just to know where I am in this game.
So why those settings? If you do some basic math, you will see that you will get really random finished tasks. We don't want Instagram to see the pattern, that's why we are using numbers from 250 to 800 and 30 to 100 (in seconds).
My comments are spun, they look something like: {Hello|hey!}Heya!|Good evening!|Hi!} {awesome|really nice|great|sweet} {post|pic|picture|image|shot}. {Oh|Um|Ah|hm|hmm} {btw|by the way} I can {give you|provide} a FREE {shoutout|shout out}, because I {love|like} your {account|page|instagram account|instagram page|IG acc|IG page}. Check my{profile|account|page} Bio.
As you can see, I do not use [ at ] nor <owner> ( if you use <owner> in your comments in FL, it will tag the [ at ]username of the account holder you are commenting ). I have came up with conclusion that those [ at ]/<owner> do more harm than help. If you don't use those tags, you will most probably don't get commenting block with the settings above.
Also I forgot to mention, that I am one of those instagram pages who give free shoutouts, will explain more about that later.
Now about the supporting accounts:
Follow: 150 - 300, delay 30 - 110 sec
Unfollow: 170 - 320, delay 30 - 110 sec
Comments: 70 - 120, delay 130 - 250 sec
Like: 50 - 100, delay 30 - 70
General Settings: Automation Interval 7 - 11 minutes
Now the purpose of those accounts are to drive attention to my main account, so the most important part about them are the comments. The rest tasks are to make account to look "normal". The comments are again like the example above, but in this case I comment:
{Oh|Um|Ah|hm|hmm} {btw|by the way} {account|page} MyAccountNameHere can {give you|provide you} a FREE {shoutout|shout out}, because they {love|like} accounts like yours. Check their {profile|account|page} Bio - AgainTheNameHere
Again I don't use [ at ]. Just forget about this. IG became very strict about this.
So how with those low settings I came with 20k active followers for 4 months ? Heh, of course some of you will say " meh, 20k for 4 months... this is like 5k new followers each month, which is not a big deal ". It's not, true, but I NEVER faced any bans or blocks. You don't want IG to raise ANY flags on your account. There is something like quality score. It's not a myth. It's real, I have tested this. It's another story, just trust my word on this.
Okay, everything above is just matter of tests with the bot. Now let me share some advanced tricks I use to speed up the growing:
Use invisible characters at your account Bio. Those invisible characters will help you to "center" the words there.
Use those invisible characters at your posts. Make it clear for your followers what they need to do.
If you can find people in your niche, who own same "level" account as your, offer them partnership.
Asking people to tag their friends always increase the engagement. This really help to gain more followers. It work good only with big pages ( 15k + ) on my opinion.
Post often. While you are awake, try to post every 2-3 hours from your last post. This not only increase the engagement, but you actually "teach" your followers to see new posts often. That will help you later when you start the paid posting ( more about the monetization later, keep reading )
Do NOT post only at time when americans are online, because everybody else is posting at that time. That's why you need to post every 2-3 hours, like I suggesting above.

Let me explain you why you want to provide free shoutouts and after that i will explain how you can monetize your account - my way.
If you want to build something long term, you MUST to give credit to the person who own the image. Instagram already started to ban (big and small) pages, this is one of the factors. I'm not just talking about adult crap niche. Everyone is affected. Now when this is clear, let me continue with the monetization part.
Monetization
Okay, my method is not noob friendly, but I am sure you can find the tools if you have the right motivation. Most of you will ask " okay, when is the time for monetization ? How many followers I need, how many likes per pic, etc, etc "
Personally I think you need at least 1k likes ( for 24h ) per picture, before you start to monetize. Of course you can start right away from the first day, but I am trying to spare you the disappointment. When person get disappointed, his motivation is gone - game over. So, if you ask me - 10k followers/ 1k likes per pic. Now someone will say " followers are not important, likes are important". To be honest it's not like that. I have test this too. Page with 1k likes and 30k followers earn 3x more than page with 8k followers and 1200~ likes. It's very important people to feel that you are famous. I'm not saying "go and buy 100k fake crap and bank it", because it's not going to work too, but there is a balance you need to find...anyway.
So this is how I monetize:
I have a custom coded site with custom submit form. So the idea here is this - I do provide free shoutouts, but to do that I ask people to submit their image and here is the tricky part. To land on my submit form, they need to login with their IG username and password. I use IG API. When they login, I already have their username ( it's important, you will why below ) and I earn 1 token from every new user who log in + I have their m.ail. Using those tokens for likes ( it will become too complicated if I start to write about the tokens, if you are interested, do a research ). Okay... so they are on my submit form and they need to provide:
- their name
- original caption about their image
- 150 characters (it's like 3 sentences) about their image.
- Upload Image
Everything above is required. That mean they can't skip anything, if they try to and click the Submit button, the system will alert them with popup that they are missing something. So just from my form I collect this:
Their M.ail - at 10k m.ails, I will use them for m.ail marketing. I know my niche, I know exactly what those people like. Targeted mails. Or I can sell this list
Their Name - I need their names, so I can be more personal in the m.ail marketing. It's important.
Their Content - So, when they submit, their post go live right away (auto approve). My site get image, caption that play a article title role, and explenation what is that image, where they took the picture, etc,etc. With other words I receive User generated content - UGC. The dream of every marketer (or at least for every smart marketer) is to receive content FOR FREE and on auto, without doing almost nothing. I have tested Pinterest, Twitter, Google+, Facebook and Tumblr to make people provide content - I fail with those. So why I'm so happy about this UGC ? I have done some tests back in 2010, published 120k trash content articles, some social signals, some spammy back links, 4 months waiting and the result was OMG... of course google banned me after a week, but from this test now I know that even poor quality content, but high quantity will earn tons. The differences here is that I won't count on trash content - so it's long term. When I'm talking about quantity I mean 50k+ posts. Doh... let me continue with Instagram.
Okay, so after they submit and I receive everything I listed above, I redirect them to a page, where i explain them that I am receiving too many submits, so if they want 100% guaranteed shoutout, they can pay. I give them two payment options: paypal and fortumo. You all know what paypal is. Fortumo is online SMS payment system. So I let them to pay via SMS for those who don't have paypal.
Let me explain with few sentences the whole scheme:
I grow account the safe way ( because I'm adding credit back to the owners ) at the same way I attract more people to follow me, because everyone like the free stuff. I collect content for free, waiting for future search engine (SE) traffic and earn via adsense from this traffic. Collecting their m.ails for future m.ail marketing and in the same time earn money from paid shoutouts.
I will be honest with the numbers.
I earn from 10$ to 30$ each day from account 20k real followers. This is just from the paid shoutouts. Everything above may seems stupid to some of you, but to make more sense, I need to share my niche. Which I won't do. Everything above is for those who have the brain to tweak methods and "pull" something from the whole things. This is not step by step method.
Now if you feel I deserve your time, answer me some quesions:
- I've heard that after 40-50k real followers, the accounts start to grow VERY fast. For example people with 50k pages grow to 100k for 2-3 months and after that from 100k to 1m for about 5-6 months. Is this true ? Share experience. I really value the experience than the logic.
- You already know my method of monetization. Do you have any smart ideas for monetization ? Remember, I know every "popular" way. CPA (total crap to be hones, churn and burn shit), affiliate with CB,amazon, adsense,m.ail marketing,etc,etc. I know all this and I see those suggestions 100 times a day, while reading here and there. My questions is more like the smart way, something like:
"Buy a membership for 10$, get access to V.I.P area with a lot of free ebooks, articles, etc,etc ( for your niche ). Also get a free shoutout from those 10$ membership fees." And somewhere explain to those people that they will be auto billed every month via PayPal So if you have 200 members, next month you will receive 2000$. I want smart monetization suggestions from you guys. I'm pretty sure there are people with awesome ideas. Please share in a way that this won't harm your model. I will get your idea and tweak it.
