My Amazon review site has a lot of pictures from Amazon itself and a lot I just found on Google. I don't know if they are copyright but I'm sure some are. Will Google penalize me for this?

how would they know. Since these images are mostly manufacturer images, amazon would have a problem too.

I think this won't lead to penalty.. For safe edit the image with PS and upload it..

I've never had an issue using Amazon pics on an Amazon affiliate site. I don't change them at all. I figure it helps make them money too. I have a couple sites high up on p1, so no issues with google either.

What about using other's people pictures of the product? I find a lot of them on Google.

the difference between giants, like amazon and marketers like us, is that amazon has such a fucking legal documentation on their website, that it basically makes you waive almost all your rights if you want to use their services

I think your chance to be pursued for copyright shit is waay negligible. It's definitely possible, but very unlikely. Just edit the damn image, such resizing the pixel size or whatever. Try to remove the watermarks if you see any.

Chances are, the images don't belong to Amazon but to the product manufacturer, not even the person selling the product. And the person who manufacturered the product benefits from your representing your product even if you are only the Amazon affiliate who is representing the seller who is importing from the original company that created the product. Who's going to complain about that?

And yes, Google will know you are using the same image, but they won't necessarily know who the image belonged to originally, unless someone files a DMCA on you.
