Anyone know how to identify bad back links?

Basically, for 2 years I've had a DBZ Episode Streaming website on the first page of google, up until about 9 months ago it was #1 for all related searches like "watch dbz online" or "watch dbz episodes" etc.

This was nice and all, but I eventually dropped after a few DMCA complaints or whatever but I was still rank 2-5 for most searches. Then, bout a week or so ago I dropped off google to page like 7-9 and some of my keywords I wasn't even ranked at all. I managed to keep my traffic which is strange but it's slowly dropping.

I paid for some SEO Services but I feel one of them did a horrible job and they've caused my website to drop off the face of the earth.

Does anyone know of a well working free tool that will identify which backlinks are bad? I've tried all of these linkmonitors and stuff and they all just give me the backlinks, none of them tell me which ones are good or bad and they all just want me to pay, some are ridiculous pricing too like $1600, lol.

I'm willing to pay, granted it will work or if someone has a well reviewed service that can identify bad links so I can disavow them through GWMT.

Any help would be great, thanks.

Hi AnimeWolf, you said you did seo by the service provider. Let you know, did you get any message by Google or did you check your wmt for new issues. I am talking about Google hits. to identify the badlinks, the manual backlink profile audit is best to ensure the site safety for future. there are 32+ suspicious rules to find bad links. I am willing to support you. let me know what do you think.

You want some one to manually review all of your links for under $1600 ? Good luck having quality delivered. No one who knows his stuff wont bother wasting days "reading" each and every link you have there. If someone is willing to do it for $200 I am sure he will press few buttons and deliver some computer generated report.
It is called link audit...and if it is done properly it aint cheap.

I was doing link audits for a couple of my clients and after my (very) good tool would generate report for me I would then go and double check each and every link to see if it is junk , good or perfect. You need to know links in order to do this kind of job.

I got autogenerated link audit from one of the guys here at BHW and they marked around 80% of these links as non-toxic links (on good domains). That was far from the truth, most of these links are complete junk

I'm not asking for a fullscale investigation, more of a general idea of what to look for and I can go through and check them, the problem is that people want to sell their auto generated program's report for $1600 and I'm not ok with that. Not to mention the site doesn't have many backlinks, it's not like 100,000 backlinked website.

I didn't get any notifications from google, my site is still in the search engine index it's just a few pages back now.

You could try http://www.openlinkprofiler.org/ and use the link influencer score, not perfect but might help for a few of the links.

I utilize linkdelete.com for my clients audits and link removal efforts. The link analysis algorithm they have created is pretty good, I believe they use 50 different data points when creating the audits. One trick is that I have them manually review my audits for me to recommend which links to remove. Basically someone on their team will manually review your audit and then provide you with the list of toxic links. I usually charge my clients a few thousands dollars for an audit and link removal and then throw a few clients into linkdelete's largest package. I make great money and don't need to do a thing.

You can do it yourself as well but its a huge pain and as someone else already mentioned you need to know what you are doing. With Penguin update coming soon you want to figure out something quickly though.
