I've been buying traffic for nearly four years now. I've had five Adsense accounts banned in that time. Here is what I have found with the traffic/PPC companies out there:
Clicksor - seems absolutely stuffed to the gills with fraudulent affiliates. they outsource a lot of the traffic providing to affiliates. my analytics were littered with spammy referral URls when the referral was supposed to be blank. I use mouse-tracking software on my sites and it showed that we were getting mostly poor quality bots, even though this is marked as a genuine PPC platform, not a traffic reseller.
Innoshow - great! no, honestly 90% of the time the traffic has been good. the problem is, they can't provide enough traffic and sometimes they go down for 2-4 weeks. it's a really pity.
7Search - marked as another PPC platform, we've spent a small fortune with them without a single conversion. the traffic seems genuine. so i don't know what is wrong.
ExpressVisits - a couple of years ago, they were fantastic. but recently they have been sold to a new company who are not. the "high click" traffic which is supposed to result in ad clicks ... doesn't. there is always shortfalls between the amount of traffic you've paid for and what you get on all the services. "support" is non-existent any more and every little change takes about 48 hours to be implemented. again, a real pity.
MaxVisits - nice friendly support staff. but everything seems to be hidden in the TOS section instead of in a helpful place ... like next to the service you're thinking of buying. I think it's going to take me a while to actually discover which of their services I need, because there's no information until you buy the traffic and something goes wrong. THEN they tell you the pitfalls of that type of traffic and recommend another of their services. I've only been using them a short time, but zero conversion of any sort. their wording on the site leads me to believe that this is not ... "real" traffic in the sense that a member of the general public is going to see your website and look at it.
BidVertiser - seems to have less traffic coming to it than the website I'm trying to buy traffic for? a couple of visitors a day if I was lucky.
LinkedIn - hundreds of dollars spent. zero conversions. after reading around, it seems that advertising on LinkedIn is even more costly than Adwords with very little return. I would have thought the complete opposite?
So - I've shared. Please can someone tell me a good traffic alternative that could actually result in clicks on ads, or even real leads/sales. Black Hat, White Hat, don't care.
Thanks
Claire
