Blogger is a good platform if you are new in IM.
Easy and simply to use and configure.
You can monetize your blog by only clicking on 2 buttons (and 99.99% of the SFW blogger blogs are approved by adsense).
It's a good place for starting, and for learning. When you will be ready for acting like a pro, it's time for passing to migrate.

I must say this "blogspot" is best to get an approved adsense account.
However tumblr also provide you the same things but i really doubt the SEO compatibility thereof.
I would suggest wordpress only if you're comfortable with that. If not, being a product of google, blogger is best.
you should know the difference between wordpress.com and wordpress too.

Well, this time it was ScrapeBoss who bumped it to answer a question, but usually it's new members who don't know any better or older members who didn't notice the date.
I am learning this first-hand. I made a WP blog and Pintrest flagged it as spam and it isn't ranking at all on Google. Traffic is lame. I made a 6-post blog on blogger using a simular keyword and started posting simular content. (Though not as much Amazon affiliate stuff - 4 posts contain a link to an Amazon product that is talked about in about 500 words of text) I also used the Blogger "Links" tool and made a small window that says "Fashion Blog of the Month!" and features only my link. Shared the images to Pintrest, got traffic then got some to my WP blog from it.
You can always start on Blogger.com and then later transfer your posts to a Wordpress blog when you can afford it. You might lose your comments though. And, I'm not sure there is a way to transfer your page rank with that. But you would not be losing all your posts at least.

That's what I did for my local business site. I used Blogger and purchased a $10 domain for branding to start off with. When the site got bigger, I moved the content to a new host and installed Wordpress, and when the site needed more resources than the old host could deliver, I moved it to another host that could meet my site's needs (although transferring the site was much easier this time since all I had to do was move the files and SQL database).
Since PageRank and everything is tied to the domain, you don't have to worry about losing any authority the domain built up (even if you use the Blogspot sub-domain, you can 301 redirect it later). However, you may have an issue with different permalinks and slugs being different.
blogger is the best for seo and everything if you know what to do. my blogger blog pass in search wordpress and other cms. I am first for all the keywords i use in my blog. 128 posts total 125 are in first in search. example. for the the word money i am first in google with an article of 700 words

Yes, Blogger is very good place to post blog but wordpress is better than blogger.

blogger it google product but if you wants to do blogging professionaly then go for wordpress. Google can anytime delete your blog. so its risky as compare to paid platform.

if you want longterm standings and rank, get your own domain and use wordpress. For starting out you can use blogger buts its not reliable and the serp isnt consistant

Never put eggs in someone basket because they can hatch at any time. Heard lot of blogs that got deleted by Google without informing them. It is easy to get a domain and host for owning a blog.
