Hey guys, This information may be common knowledge but I just wanted to share my method for creating new "real looking" Pinterest accounts that gather followers rather easily. I don't have any ground breaking information to share but for anyone looking to get into Pinterest maybe this will help. It can be done manually but botting will make the process a lot faster.
To begin I usually start at fakenamegenerator.com - this site will provide you with a random name, birthday, email address, password etc, etc so you don't need to be creative. Use the settings:
Country: United States,
Name set: American and
Gender: Female
Hit generate a few times until you have a name you feel happy with, this is now your Pinterest Persona's name. The other information is not really needed but I generally take the email address it provides you and create a new email account on hotmail/outlook.com. It is generally easier to get names on outlook.com and I've been able to get the "randomname" @outlook.com for almost every one I've tried. Once you have a name and email, you can go ahead and sign up on Pinterest using your new outlook email. Just fill in the info provided by fakenamegenerator or make it up, it doesn't matter.
Adding a picture to your Pinterest account helps make you look more like a real person and less like a bot trying to push a website. Keep in mind Pinterest is mostly women and they're not going to be interested in some skanky picture. I usually just go on facebook and look for a picture of a woman who is attractive but not overly so, not young but not old. Think housewife. It may not be necessary but I usually take the picture and modify it a bit, flip it horizontally, adjust color/contrast just to make it a little more unique. It probably doesn't make a huge difference as it could probably be easily matched if they had the desire.
You can add a little profile description, mention loving gardening, DIY, your kids and dog; whatever you want. I don't always add one and it doesn't seem to help or hinder building followers, not every real person fills in one either.
Now comes building attractive boards, this is probably the most important step in getting followers. In general I never try to get targeted followers on Pinterest, there tends to be a few big niches that are popular on Pinterest and they seem to be ones that most women are interested in: cooking, fashion, diy, various fandoms, pretty pictures, quotes, etc. A lot of these niches are going to be hard to sell to like quotes, pictures, women who are obsessed with Sherlock. But they'll follow you if you have a good board related to something they like so I tend to build accounts with a broad stroke, you never know if you may want to branch out into a new niche and you've already got an audience.
To build good looking boards, look around for people who already have a lot of followers and see what types of boards they have. It never hurts to have a recipes board for example, maybe even a few for specific types of recipes, breakfast or dinner, desserts whatever floats your boat. In order to populate these boards all you have to do is look for pins related to that board that already have a lot of repins. Pins with hundreds or even thousands of repins obviously have mass appeal. You'll want at last 10-12 boards to start with but more is usually better, my largest account is pushing 50 boards including several group boards.
Finding these pins is much easier if you have a bot that can automate scraping of pins and tells you how many pins/repins each pin has, then you simply sort them from highest to lowest and pin from the top down (shuffling them first is probably a good idea) Add about 30-50 pins to each board for starters. I try not to pin too much in one day, fill 1-3 boards a day until you're up to 8-10 boards. Don't worry about posting content from your money site yet, its probably not going to be seen anyway. Populate your boards with other peoples content, when you add your own links they'll appear at the top of your boards and be seen first by anyone looking at them. Content farther down in a board gets seen much less, unless it is extremely popular and then may appear in peoples feeds. This still helps you though as it draws attention to your account. I believe the new Pinterest Feed uses some sort of algorithm based upon how much people like/repin your pins so starting with pins that have high sharability may help your other pins get traction.
Once your account fully populated and looking good, and you've selected good cover images for each board you can begin following others by whichever method you choose. Building an account in this way I have been able to grow a brand new account from 0 followers to over 1000 in one day.
