I've been with godaddy for years. Until this past year things have been smooth. It seems that I either pay alot more money to increase the resources or find another host. The up sales are annoying and the hosting is extremely slow. I own a handful of sites but the 25 second plus load times are painful. It is terrible as I've lost my customer base. So fellow BHWer's what do you recommend? I have a average of 5-10 sites up, that I regularly update. I pulled most of them offline to reduce the load time on some of the others but its not helping.

25 seconds load time? /facepalm Just go with any small-medium sized provider who doesn`t oversell like a fuck. There are some good providers on this forum, just have a look at the marketplace.

That's what I'm doing, its a new experience to move everything over so I'm trying to avoid as many mistakes as possible, thus the the question. I'd prefer to learn from others who have done it before. While you're answer is OK its vague.

How it is vague? Simply go to the Hosting section and read some reviews and pick one. Most providers will transfer the websites for you free of charge.

Hostwinds has been doing me wonders.

Never used godaddy for anything besides domains.

They overcharge like a mofo

depends on what you're after, if you're on wordpress and you want speed, traffic planet hosting is great for me, though it's a little more expensive, the load time and up time are amazing, there are other cheaper alternatives sure, again depends on how much those sites do for you and if it's worth it or not.
