I have a PR5 website that I'm thinking of selling links from (PR5 homepage, link on homepage) - how much do you think a PR5 homepage link is worth though?

I'd be grateful for some opinions.

Thanks.

Get check on Flippa
you will have idea of the price for your homepage.

considering PR hasn't been updated in almost a year, that doesn't mean much, it's traffic is more important, it's niche as some niches pay more for advertising than others, if it's actually a good site or you just picked up a PR5 domain and installed wordpress with a few articles also matters :) you might want to provide more details.

With the information you have given it's worth 0$

PR is outdated. What's the TF and CF? Also, if it isn't niche specific I wouldn't pay anything for it.

If it's PR5 with a link profile that looks like it's PR5 then its worth some money, as long as the site looks good.

Lots of wtf answers in this thread. Here's what you need to know.

How much you can charge for your link will be based on the following:

- Is the website still a legit PR5? (ie backlink analysis has to be done)
- How many outbound links?
- Where is the link is located?
- Will the link also drive traffic?
- How popular and what is the reputation of the website?
- What niche the website is in?
- Current market price when all the above is taken into account.

Good luck.

Hi,
thanks for your responses.

To answer some questions, it is I believe a legit PR5, has never been used for spam and has under 100 backlinks, but some are good ones, like from newspapers, educational sites - in other words high quality official type sites.

TF & CF is low since it's been dropped and not had a site on it for a while, but as pointed out by others CF & TF etc are not efficient measures of the oomph you'll get from a link on a site, Google don't use those metrics, I suspect they are now using metrics that can't be fabricated, e.g. reputation, trust, authority - that is to say backlinks from high quality sites that Google trusts, sites that you can't spam links from with scrapebox, etc.

I've done a test with this domain (links from homepage) by creating backlinks to 2 random websites.

One is in the PPI claims niche, the other a legal niche - so both very competitive high value industries.

The PPI site has jumped around 10 places after the link, the legal one has jumped from page 3 to page 2 - so I'd say links from it have some impact.

Anyway, I haven't got a clue how much backlinks sell for from PR domains because I too don't put my stock in metrics like that.

But since a lot of people do value PR still I thought it would be a good one to sell some links from if they are actually worth anything to anyone.

How much for 6 years old domain with PR5 , CF 14 , TF 5 , DA 19 , PA 23 with 323 backlinks and 6 referring domains ( clean profile ) ?

Does the pr mean a lot into todays world, example , i got a website no pr, but 50.000 legit visiters a month, in a very heigh niche pulling in thousands a month.

value of website = what niche?= what amout of traffic?= what the current income per month?.

Then value the website.

it very hard to value websites that are old , that why flippie was created i think.

your showing the metrics of the website but metrics are out dated aswell.

i use only pr for scrapping the website urls and then i have to sort out rhere backlinks to add to my project

for example likes and votes got beat via metrics know , social media out done metrics in value.(old hat metrics old hat pr )

I'm not saying that CF and TF are the be-all and end-all, but whoever says that they are not efficient measures are either misinformed or (worse) misguiding you. I don't care what anyone says, I've tested hundreds of sites and own tens of thousands of sites, and I can promise you that CF and TF are important.

If I can give anything back to this forum it would be to not over-complicate SEO, and don't ignore CF and TF.

judging by all the metrics listed, it is pretty safe to say that this domain is no longer a PR5. $0

What niche and what kind of traffic is the site getting?
