MailChimp e-mails not being sent?

Hi,

I started using MailChimp lately and the first e-mail in my campaign which offers a freebie after the opt-in for some reason is not being sent. I entered a test e-mail, did an opt-in and subscribed, but no freebie e-mail has been sent. Does anyone know why? Does MailChimp schedule their e-mails somehow? I'm mailing to the appropriate list and everything.

They sometimes block new accounts until a human checks what kind of email you're trying to send.

When i import a 5000 mails list in mailchimp do they all get a message to opt-in before i can send them campaigns?

the premium email services like mailchimp can be very picky, if you get 2 or 3 complaints from 1k emails that's enough to get your account canned.
