Has Twitter Peaked?

Twitter wil be turning into somthing ells.
Twitter got the best seach functions ever made, and the best API.
I am sure the reason Google is intread in it is becourse of that.
Has twitter peaked? Not at all. But twitter is used in another way in a few years.

I used to hate it but now I kinda like it, it's a shame really, how come that fucking trashdump of a myspace hasn't peaked yet???

I had an idea of spamming replies to people just the other day, did anyone else think of that? I thought that can't be possible and it turns out twitter turned off that feature just yesterday or something, you can't reply to someone you're not following. It's like some #fixreplies controversy that's going on right now, I don't really care.

And you know what's really funny? They (the twitter guys) don't even have a revenue model. "No hurry" they say. That's what you get for being a douchebag...

I've never been a big fan of twitter, I'm sure it will have a place in the social networking people like reading when other people go to poo :)

Wow this thread is pretty one way about twitter. Yes, they do have a lot of security flaws, and if they arent fixed they are going to loose brand loyalty. The good thing about twitter is that it is flexible, people can make all sorts of twitter based sites and apps. Even if twitter ends up failing it will end up influencing future social networking sites for sure.

The closest thing to "flagging" in twitter is the block option. And spammers? There aint many spammers that i see. But there is one in particular that got his/her accounts banned pretty quickly, but i noticed is still going and spamming. (free naked cams or something like that).

ha haha "trash dump" I know ms is a complete retard

i think intelligence goes to the person who said it will develop.

its a great thing to note cycles.

MS - brilliant then spam then trash dump retard
FB - brilliant, then annoying cause you cant market on it, shit results, and younger kids using it, i think thats had its day, I reckon their 25+ time spent on site is significantly lower than it was. I hate them. "ooooh im a girl here is my 900 pictures...bet you will look at them all "
Twi - an intelligent persons arena then spam then will yes have to develop into something else.
Linked in - what a useless waste of energy money and complete naff ness pointless nonsense
bebo - hi, i'm 8

I need twit as its my ONLY goddam traffic source right now.

Spammers need to get a brain and do it intelligently or we all loose out.

There's a market there, you just need to peel back the crusty surface and find it.

Hint: use it's API and get something interesting coded.

Hell you can send people MONEY on it now ;)

If I owned Twiter, I would sell it this second; a 50/50 chance of it not dying isn't worth it, plus I believe the company Apple offered a large sum of money for the website. And just for the record, Facebook has a basic status system, Twitter had a better one, then Twitter was all over the media, so Facebook upgraded theirs to what it is now, but I believe that Twitter improved Facebooks idea in a way, but Facebook's status system is better then Twitters, you can do exactly what you do on twitter, with facebook, but with facebook you've also got the whole social networking section as well, Twitter should improve the direct-message system, to more of a private-messaging system and block all the spam its getting, I went from 100 to 300 direct messages over night, all saying similar things "Wanna get 17,000 targetted twitter followers and make money doing it?" and what not.

I totally agree with you, pisses me off when i see spammers just go all out on twitter. Wheres the creativity? Cleverness?

Twitter also had a very lucky break when one person who was very foolish (in respect to getting money for his images) uploaded a set of images of the plane landing in the Hudson River.

That event gave a massive unjustified boost to Twitter and at the same time lost the uploader a ton of money that he could have got for selling his images to the main stream press

The upload to Twitter boosted Twitter tremendously and it was really a bonus for Twitter and a big financial loss for the guy

That was a classic example of the guy's ego getting in the way and showed his gross commercial naivety

it sure has its growing pains

but oprah, ashton sure made it mainstream

and it recently beat cnn.com in alexa rankings

as wel as its heavily used in big international happenings like the G20..So i stil think there is potential there

Twitter has not peaked yet. Not at all - just wait and see when they get bought by the big G and implement their indexing of urls. I think Twitter still has the best to come - they have to since they don't have a business plan yet :-)

Well if you are right about twitter not peaking yet and g00gle buying them, we better start making accs, because once twitter is owned by g00gle along with the benefits of good indexing, api development and improvement there will be a lot of restrictions and anti-spam tactics. Not blackhat friendly environment at all.

Let's just hope google doesnt buy twitter.

Twitter may be heading down but I noticed Friend Feed is really gaining popularity now.

Never heard of Friendfeed up till now but it seems promising. I'll check it out with my white and my black hat.

It's a trend, it will probably come back every 5 or so years.

Way to go . . .

It is curious why so many hate or loath Twitter, when they
just don't know what to do with it.
