Derank: Pushing down a review

1) Look at terms of service of the site to see if you can flag it and get it removed.
2) Create social media profiles to push down the negative result in SERPs. Make sure to link to each other and to your website.
3) Create profiles on popular review sites in your country. Get happy customers to review you on those sites (target happy customers and not ask for positive reviews). Link to your social media pages and your site.
4) Create a Wikipedia page, if possible, to rank for your company name.
5) Do some link building with influencers (such as bloggers that would be interested in your company). Get them to review your product/service. Make sure they're worth your time, SEO-wise.
6) Check what keywords that negative result is ranking for and create a company page using those keywords. For example, if ranking for "complaint", create a page called "[company] complaint and review form".

Those are the ones off the top of my head.

I have no idea why, but not a single person has mentioned interlinking - when that one technique alone will solve 90% of your problem.

You need to interlink the positive posts in the site. On-page of an authority is more important for association. Once the positive press has been interlinked (possibly comment within the best post linking to additional great posts), then send backlinks to the pages interlinking pages - low level first, and then tada, all positive move up, negative move down (I'm skipping some simple steps cause I assume you know how to properly link and anchor text).

@CCarter Are you suggesting to interlink pages on the same domain, such as in a comment linking back to the page you want to rank? Or are you talking about interlinking social media sites together?

Key point there. Google is only showing the one result from that forum, right?

If that's the case, then all you really have to do is SEO for some of the positive reviews.
1. Look at comments -- is the negative review getting more comments than the positive ones? And are they more recent? If so, get comments going on the positive ones.
2. Are there links to the negative review (check with Ahrefs, Majestic, etc.)? If so, then generate just a few more links to a couple of the positive reviews.

This is actually one of the easiest reputation issues to fix.

Very cool! I appreciate your help.

You're the man CCarter. Thanks.

This post belongs to the orm section i guess

It is in the ORM section. I've taken a screenshot to show you where you can see the subsection. The main categories each have sub categories in them.

Does blasting these sites with shitty backlinks still work? Or is that method no longer viable..?

As mentioned earlier in this thread, DO NOT do that. It'll most likely result in the opposite desired effect.

Within the same domain = interlinking. (Obviously not interlinking to the bad post, but the good posts if they exists).

An outside domain, social media, linking to a page on the bad domain would be an external link coming in.
