Does the .org domain good as .com?

I'm always prefer *com. But I think it's only my habit and the difference in influences of *com or *org is truly small

I personally am moving towards .org as the defacto domain incase the .com is not available especially if it is educational, guide etc. sort of website. I have also used .net for creating large authority websites. Recently, I have also seen .guru, .me, .co etc. ranking very well in SERP too. So, it does not matter much.

One more thing. Do not go "only for EMD". Nowadays, EMDs are also seen as a bit of "probably spammy website" with thin content especially in long tail keywords. I hardly find many EMDs in Google SERP nowadays. Go for variations of the keyword instead if possible.

Technically i think there is no real difference between .com, .net, .org. and don't think it really matters for SEO. But I do think there is a huge difference in what they represent to people. .com is still people's nr 1 choice with .net as its runner up. Org. feels like a charity even though many other companies have used it already. I would always go for .com and if not available choose .net. Good luck

Check the SERPs for the main keywords related to your domain and see if any .org or .net will rank.

Usually .com's take most the top spots.

There is a minor difference between .com and.org sites. .Com is more trustworthy and easy to remember for users. So, it definitely helps you in attracting more traffic and a plus point in case of repeated users. Traffic has a wide impact on SEO, so it is better to use .com site.

.org niche sites make me feel weird inside. I'm just talking about personal preference though, the Googlebot has no feelings. It is not sentient. However, I'm pretty sure .coms trump all others.

If you really can't find a .com EMD... well just keep lookin'.

My experience is that ranking is not affected by the extension. I have an exact match .me.uk that i was able to easily outrank the .com and .co.uk versions for UK searches.
My concern was that people wouldn't trust me.uk and so would not click through, but click through rate did not seem to be affected.
