When to start monetizing my facebook page?

At the end of January I started a niche specific facebook page, and now I have it around 5500 likes growing between 300 - 600 likes per day. I'm wondering when I should start monetizing, if I should get more likes or is 5500 okay to start a blog and start sending traffic? I have a website built already and I'm working to get 100+ posts with adsense setup as well. Any input appreciated.

600 page likes per day for such a small page is quite an achievement if it's organic, but chances are if you start posting spammy links on your page, your likes up gonna dry up real fast.

There's no right or wrong time to start monetizing, but you won't really start making money any time soon with 5500 page likes.

Now is the right time.... heck what are you waiting for if you want to monetise, monetise it, get your website in action for you as this will obviously help with organic traffic also, along with the facebook account and others you may set up... test it out, offer advice, a freebie in exchange for a CPA Cost Per Action Link or a view or a share or whatever be creative, test it, and improve upon it...

Rule of thump I normally stick to is post quality relevant user friendly content (not caring about SEO, I would do a little linking) during the week monday to friday and offer promtoions of a weekend when the majority are online, more views plus they will trust the content from the previous days..

There's ways to automate tasks from both facebook and your website, preparation is key and have ONE CLEAR GOAL not loads, Stick to a target and go for it. Hope this helps.

I had no problems with building up a 2 500 follower pinterest page but somehow i have a hard time with getting likes for my fb page.

Woud love to have details about your technique, if you want you could post a little timeline of how you build up that page.

You have a great start with 5500 likes especially if they are from organic traffic. If they are then you will surely get what you're hoping to achieve if you start monetizing. I'd say go for it but make sure that what you're going to post are contents that are relevant and add value to your followers so that they will trust you and keep on coming back. Avoid spam links of course.
