How to promote my product's affiliate program?

I have a product that I produce (it's a manufactured product used in your home and garden). I created an affiliated program at paydotcom and want to try and promote a healthy affiliate fee. I don't have a good list of emails for affiliates. Does anyone have any ideas for getting an email list like that and/or the best way to promote this affiliate program to get some momentum going? What have you done in the past for any programs you have launched on CJ, paydotcom, or any of the other sites like that?

well I`m sure if you are paying nice share for the affiliates will get peoples noticing it ... and will have sales , other way is to promote it yourself ... and take the full advantage , btw how much is your product worth and how much you offer commission ?

The product sells for $9.95 plus $1 shipping and handling via the paydotcom deal and the commission is $3.95. It's a manufactured product that sells in hardware stores in the U.S. but the product could be used most places in the World.

Ok, I sent you a pm with some ideas.

It is a very specific product with a very specific function.

It is something for safety as well which I forgot to consider.

Anyway, my biggest thought which I'll share here was to search the related niches looking for bloggers that this particular product would compliment or search places like blog catalog.

Next, to comment on their blogs or send a private email to them letting them know you have an affiliate program that may be of interest to them.

I found some key places where this product has not yet been listed and should be to help raise awareness.

Thank you for the excellent information. I am going to get busy with trying to look at each of the ideas and develop a plan of attack around implementing each. Some are quicker than others... I'll give those a shot first.
