I don't know, I'm starting to get demotivated. I've been busting my butt for days now, dropping tons of comments and I've only made $45. My pay rate per hour has gotta be like 0.50 cents an hour at this point. Meh, starting to wonder if this is even worth it?

Tell me about it. So far I've put 5 days into this, 4 of those commenting, although I've lost track of how many comments I've posted, must be loads.

If all you have got is 173 visitors in 5 days and only 31 hops, you are doing something seriously wrong. If you do this for just 2-3 hours a day, you should expect 400 visitors a day minimum.

I would look at the way you are commenting, where you are putting links and what you are saying if I were you, as your method so far is clearly not driving traffic to your site.

That's what I had figured, so perhaps it is my commenting. For example, this was an article on Almonds & Weight Loss:

All I did was change about 7 words. It actually took me longer to find the post than it did to change a few things in it.

Now ask yourself, and be honest with your answer, would that comment get more clicks than yours?

I started my site 11 days ago and spent a few days improving my website because I also want to rank in the SERPs. Just yesterday I went around for an hour and made comments on various platforms such as DISQUS.

45 hops and 3 sales.

i picked product with very nice profesional looking landing page and linking right to it, it looks very good, no any tipical spammy blabling on a page, i post half prewriten half self writen posts based on situation, yesterday i got 85 hops but no sale
what is your hop/sale ratio ?
also in total i have 300 hops but not a single sale, is it ok ?
edit: hm i checked yesterday links and it seems not a single disqus post with a link was verified only posts without links

Now the plan was to make a website as recommended but I have loads on at the minute and my wife isn't exactly tech savvy so she whipped up a 1 page blogger blog and started posting comments on various sites. (no forums)

Direct-linking, as stated multiple times previously, will have a very low success rate. You have built zero trust with your audience and the results will reflect it. You'll probably end up with a sale for every 5-600 or so 'hops' if you direct link, which will also mean you will sometimes go 1000 or even 2000 hops without a sale.

Creating even a basic one-page personal review of the product you are promoting to pre-sell it has a dramatic effect on conversions. Expect your hops/sale to decrease to 1 in 50 if the product and your review is good. If you have a 25% ctr, this means you will now be creating a sale in every 250 people who click on your comment, instead of 500 or more.

A one-page review will therefore at least double your sales, and if you built a decent review site (ie - you followed this method instead of trying to cut corners), your ctr will increase to as much as 40 or 50% if it is a good site, and you will make a very good income indeed.

Yes currently only one product.....the plan is to review more but because this was initially set up using blogger, it was only ever meant as a stop gap until I find time to build an actual site.
