I do have a question to those doing this though.
Lets say your niche is healthy cooking. How exactly do you go about promoting a product about healthy cooking for example, when your own website is full of information on health cooking. Aren't people just going to use this free information?
I think you mean click-thru-rate, and 22% is good. Plus, you can't take anything from that small of a sample size, 19 hops is nothing - you need at least 1000 hops before having any sort of real clue as to a true conversion rate.
As for the last question, you give good information, and presell/review the product as excellent "insider" or "expert" stuff.
Jamie Oliver and Gordon Ramsay recipes are all over the internet for free on websites like the BBC or channel 4 - yet they still sell millions of books.
