Offline Marketers - Anyone Use "Offline Gold"?

Hey,

So I have been offline marketing a while now, with some really good success actually. A lot less competition and I love helping small business owners realize a higher operating income. Anyways, I've come across the "Offline Gold" eBook quite a few times now and am wondering if it outlines some viable, unique ways to market my consulting. I'm not worried about the price, just wasting an hour or two of my time is more important than anything.

Tell me what you think and sorry if this is in the wrong forum. Thought this would be the most pertinent. Thanks!

If you're already doing this then this may be a good review and may turn up a gem or two. But it's pretty basic and doesn't get into a lot of detail.

I reviewed it for new angles because I sell $6000 websites to local business owners but didn't really find anything. It lacked a little when it came to "how to" approach the small business owner and who to approach.

Like most "guru" books I thought it focused more on "what to do" than "how to do" it. But that's my opinion.

I sold (and still do) sites (between 3k and 15k) for business on a regular basis.
Nothing special about that Offline Gold ebook. Could be ok for newbie, but will certainly not help you land the big fish .

IMO, that not something that you learn in an ebook.

It's pretty basic stuff really. Nothing you couldn't find right here on the forum. Don't think there would be a lot of point you reading it if you are already supplying services to offline companies.

Do you chaps build your own sites for these business's or outsource?!

Can you give us more info as to how you do this? Since it's offline there won't be much competition. I'm interested -do you design these websites yourself or you outsource. Also d'you host them yourself. Is that included in the grand price or you charge them monthly. Is there a course somewhere about this?

Actually I sell nationwide. I have graphic and web designers throughout the U.S. that I either market for or teach how to promote their own business.

The first group, the ones I market for, simply prefer to do what they do best and love to do but they hate marketing and sales. So, I find a niche and market specifically to that niche. I (my company) sell the websites, handle the order and then pay the designer whatever they have told me they want to be paid. They're simply happy with a steady income.

The second group, are designers who want to promote their own business. The problem is that they don't know how. So, I created a viral marketing plan to help them effortlessly sell websites and Internet services to local small business owners. They pay me a small monthly fee to use my marketing plan and they're happy to do everything themselves.

As to the designing of websites, I don't design the websites that's for the professional. Instead, I sell a specific type of website that sells much better than the traditional websites usually sold. HINT: It's not a blog or "pretty" site.

As to hosting, this is usually part of the package. I insist that all web sites be hosting on our servers so that we can maintain the sites for them and modify as needed. Since we're already charging $500/mo for the site we don't charge more for the hosting unless we're streaming videos.

I have licensed video resellers to sell the websites and we do all the work for them. This is mostly geared towards web designers who are looking for a sales edge over the local competition. I think we now have 90 or so licensed video resellers nationwide. Haven't looked lately but I'm pretty sure it's close to that.

We like to say that we are our own competition.

I have someone from BHW who lives in Houston who just signed up as a reseller. He's working on a couple of business owners who will be buying the websites at $1500 plus $100/mo maintenance fees. (he has a different business model than mine)When he closes the deals I'll ask him if he'd mind showing them off and posting to this thread.

(Legally I can't post his clients sites because these are his clients not mine. We're just producing the videos and websites for him)

BTW: If you're in Houston and doing seminars you might want to JV with him. I'm not sure where his office is but I believe it's close to downtown. He'd be someone you could outsource to.

There's money out there. Just have to have the courage to Take Action!
