A Stupid Question Maybe...

Hello there guys,

I am an old bhw member and have some decent knowledge in IM but I've never ever in my life
tried media buying, so I hope I won't get too much heat for this newbie question of mine

I wonder how adblock and how the other adblockers (like Maxthon's adblocker for example) work.

What do I mean?

1. Adblocker completely remove the ads.
2. Maxthon's adblocker remove the ads but not the block (it's like hiding them and notremoving them completely)

I'd like to try out buysellads.com and buy some banner advertising per $/1k views.

My problem is that it's not worth it if the adblocker actually loads the ad but doesn't make it visible,
cause I am paying for something that's never get delivered. In short, I waste money.

So how do they work?

Will I invest money only to actual people that don't use an adblocker?

Can you reply exactly to my questions? (I suppose adblocker is safer cause it removes completely the ads but what about the others that hide them?
Does the ad count for buysellads if someone has an adblocker on?)

1. about adblock and other types of this extensions i know they block the ads but truly never worried about this

why...--->>the reason is simple. there will be no business on the internet,,what i mean by this....the websites generate content that grub attention(traffic) for only one reason...is to sell advertising,,sow if suddenly no body will buy place to advertise on some website you will see in the speed of light how website crush.

the more eyeballs the website grabs the more money they do from advertising ,,,now imagine for one second that suddenly no one buy there because *adblock* the business will crush very fast so,, they will find a way for adblock so it will not work...the monster still will grow always. now another interesting point i see a lot of slideshows pic of celebrities on websites,,they doesn't show you at one window all the pictures they want you go one by one why,,,each several pictures there will pop up ads this mean--->> this generate more money to everybody ,this is the reason .


2. buysellads.com is very good place to buy places for your banners but before you run there banners ...choose several websites in one vertical in buysellads, and go find other websites outside of buysellads that in the same vertical and see what are type of offers run there, then take 2 offers based on your research and test across the websites you was Chosen on buysellads.

So if I buy impressions, buysellads will count them even with an adblocker on?

Its very tough,and infact down to nothing you can do to bypass those filters,unless you run your ads locally.Adblock filters are blocking the specific urls only ,not the ads run on your local server.Adblocks will block your ads, and you're free to block your content from visitors.What is it blocking you to use content locker,if you need a guaranteed return ?

kbklash may be right for you. Perhaps you could better monetize this traffic with guaranteed returns by using a content locker. I don't know if that will work with your ad networks. There are always ways around that. For example, you could just use a standard lander with a strong call to action to get users to click to another page where you host the locker.

I am not sure that this might work for your or not, but I have seen many websites that locks themselves if Adblock is on & they display the following message on their entire screen:

"Please pause Adblock to view this page"

And as a user I've to pause Adblock, because i want to access that site.

Well, if my answer is not relevant, then don't be angry as I'm a newbie BTW .

Have you considered buying ads on a time basis?
Like, buying and ad place for a day / week / month, regardless of impressions?
