[Method] Amazon to eBay Drop-shipping Done Right! Spoon Fed! *Long/Detailed*

So found this method. Before I left for work today listed 2 items, one was 180 ish on amazon so I listed it for 10% more thinking that would be a good profit margin and I would be priced lower than others. Was really excited to find that someone had purchased it within two hours of listing! Just got home and first found that my paypal account needed confirmed and I won't be getting the money for about 3 weeks. Alright acceptable I guess. Also saw that 3% was coming out so essentially 6 bucks off of my portion. Then I go to place my order and tax gets put on... so I essentially just lost 2 bucks.

Lesson learned, be aware of tax and paypal fees.

At least I have the first one out of the way and should be able to get the money soon and have no problems after.

Any suggestions on pricing and what margin to shoot for. Or ways to avoid tax?

EDIT: Decided to just cancel the order from Amazon and refund the guy his money. Doesn't make sense to lose money and be out nearly 200 bucks for 3 weeks waiting on the funds to go through.

You need to be careful when manually entering prices and making sure that after fees you are profitable.

Dear OP,

I started this method last week on Wednesday and have already made my first sale. I cannot thank you enough! Now I understand the power behind Taking Action!

Hey OP! Got my first sale today after 14 Days! Well, my price is definitely not the cheapest! Made a good $6.50 profit after all the ebay and paypal fees are deducted!

Even though it's peanuts, I'm glad I made a sale! hehehehe.

Just started yesterday!

Gonna watch how it goes, thanks OP.

Any suggestion on listing description?
Using HTML templates? Or plain text?

Good work man, keep it up :)

That's not bad at all. Your approach seems to be very similar to mine, as I aim for $7 after all fees are deducted. Great work! Just try to find items that sell just like this one and eventually you'll stumble upon something people love and you are the only good looking listing for that item. People really don't realize how many items are truly on Amazon. :)

My descriptions are very simple. Plain text with a few photos of the item included in case the buyer is too lazy to click them at the top. Maybe I will look into making them a little nicer in the future :)

Thanks for this great thread I have another question
Do you use prime for all your items?

This 10 item limit is really limiting me and stopping this method from working for me.

Yes, always.

This 10 item limit is really limiting me and stopping this method from working for me.

Well of course it's going to take some time. Just let 10 items sit for a week. If none sell, do another new 10 items after that week is up. Repeat that until you have a selling item and continue to relist it while trying additional new ones. I was upgraded very quickly after selling some items and I also know you can request increased selling limits by contacting eBay after you've had a few sales.

Be VERY CAREFUL when doing this in the United Kingdom with a Business Name.

I did this myself for awhile last year and got a lot of angry people who noticed the amazon box and went to amazon.co.uk to check the prices. They noticed it was cheaper and wanted a refund.

If you're selling as a business in the UK it's LAW that you have to abide by distance selling regulations which means that a buyer for any reason can ask for a refund within 7 days and you must refund them.

It's been a week. I've listed 15 or so items with a 30% profit, offering Free 1-day shipping, and have already sold one for $100.

With the right research and a competitive market, this method works wonders.

I think i will need to change items, since already a week and no sales

Went from 4 products to 8.
Tomorrow i will pass it to the 10 max.

After that, i think i read that i could create another ebay account with the same paypal?
Can someone confirm?
If so i think i will be creating a new one to list 10 more

Hmm?

Why use Prime over regular shipping if your Prime account has a chance to get banned?

Seems that you didn't read the original post thoroughly. I never get banned and even if I did, I could just make another Prime account for free... I don't see what you aren't understanding about it. Using Prime lets me have free shipping on all items.

I have to say that it is very nice and detailed tutorial which will help us to start something and I wish I could see those numbers.

so do you list these products as auction items? or buy it now? if you do it as an auction, do set the minimum starting auction at a certain price that you would only profit from? thanks so much!

Is this method only valid for citizens of Europe and the US? AFAIK, Amazon requires US address and number for verification etc.

Thanks for the detailed post, OP! Based on it, I decided to give it a go and already sold an item. Had to cancel it though, and the reason will likely help other noobs. TAX. Amazon didn't used to charge tax for my area, but apparently now they do. So to get an accurate picture of how much an item will cost, put it in your shopping cart and act like you're buying it. Get to the last step right before "place order" and it'll tell you shipping cost and tax. Shipping should be free, provided you have Prime or sold something over $35, but that tax ate up my entire profit.

ETA: I'm in California, your mileage may vary. Cali is very anal about getting their sales tax, some states are less so. I imagine that's why the OP didn't really cover the topic of tax (unless I missed it, I'm tired and it's 5 AM). THAT SAID, my experience shows it's entirely possible to do this for a noob.
