Godaddy --The Worst Web Hosting Company

I hate GoDaddy! They are the worst company ever! They are sneaky liars with subpar systems and too many clients.

I have been a customer of theirs for 16 years and they are the worst of all the hosting companies. They try to make the customer feel like they are using too many resources when in fact they just have too many customers per server. They trick you into "Unlimited Bandwidth" and "Unlimited Disk Space" but try to reload your site a few times and it will crash, try to get more than 5 people viewing your site at a time and it will freeze and give you an error message "Sorry there are too many connections to this website." As well there is no "Unlimited Disk Space" because they have a limit on "inodes" meaning you can only have 250,000 files. So stupid and shady. I hate you GoDaddy and I hope you one day fail miserably and go bankrupt then your executives get abducted by aliens and dismembered.

They're not just bad for hosting, they're horrible for domains too. I tried transferring 2 domains out and it was almost impossible because they never sent me my domains by proxy user info when they claim they did.

I have some bad experience with them too.
I made a new GDD account and registered 5 very nice domains. After 5 days the domains were suddenly "unregistered", I couldn't log into my account and I got an e-mail saying "We need to verify your account. Send us your ID blabla". I did what they say and after 2 days I got an e-mail "You are verified now. Please register your domains again". Guess what? 3 of the 5 domains were registered already. Someone just took them and registered them. I couldn't register them again. Maybe someone working for godaddy just blocked my account too register these domains?!

Another thing: I got the refund on my paypal after 10 days! So they wanted me to pay for the domains I already bought again, without having send me the refund!

They are just bad as fuck. Never again.

I registered a UK company domain a few weeks ago, and they were a PITA factor when it came to company verification. They kept telling me to update my contact info. I did cirka 4 times. But that wasn't good enough, they wanted company documents. What the hell is Companies House for, really?

OMG I have 18 domains with them currently. They scattered them into 12 different Domains By Proxy accounts and for each of them it's a huge ordeal to unlock them.

I am migrating everything to HostGator, HostWinds, NameCheap and ASmallOrange. All I can hope from me re-awakening this thread is that more people don't make the same bad decision by joining this shit hole of a company.

Good to know I wasn't the only one. How did you get out of it? Sending in ID verification? I was able to find a list of the customer IDs when I told them I wanted to register new domains with privacy. Good thing I kept all my old passwords in a password manager. Tried all the combos and eventually got in.

I switched from GoDaddy (because you're right they suck) to Blue Host and I was really happy with Blue Host for years. However, last year they started sucking now too. Blue Host is so bad that you have to minimum 35-45 min to speak to anyone and now their online chat feature is over an hour to get a customer service online to help you. It's really sad because they are almost as bad as GoDaddy, the only difference now is that Blue Host doesn't try and sell you the world every time you speak to them.

I'm a noob, but I've had positive experience with bluehost's online chat and affiliate support so far.
Although, I should have gone with cheaper hosting for starters for just a few domains.
But I like the install scripts to test out on subdomains. I experience a lot this way.
My domains are on an IP which has a 1000 other domains on it.. lol. No spammers fortunately on this ip.

I have not tried BlueHost but HostWinds and Namecheap have been remarkable. They literally are available to chat immediately.

I would like to note that although GoDaddy support seems great, I believe it's outsourced to a company that handles most of the hosting companies chat support. Hence when you have a serious issue it gets escalated to GoDaddy advanced support.

As well, most of the time I found myself chatting with GoDaddy support it was always an error on their end that they needed to change or reset. I am an advanced user and the other companies give me no issues.

Thanks for sharing your experience, I was thinking to switch to their services, but now I am aware of it and will find out some other provider.

i think godaddy is the largest site that has a high reputation,,

have you contacted the customer service??

GoDaddy - Proof that marketing can make a mediocre product produce lots of money.
