WordPress migration to new host from GoDaddy

I am currently looking for someone who can assist me on an immediate basis on moving my WordPress websites from GoDaddy to a new host. I was close to hiring a Fivver for it, but the reviews scared the $#@% out of me! I need someone that know's WP with experience in migration, security, backup knowledge with a strong focus on security. Please respond here or PM.

Wordpress itself has a plug-in for migration.
Your new web-host probably will do it for free. Just ask them.

All of the plugins are comment before download no wonder the great reviews, additionally the host I am thinking of going with WP Engine would not support that type of migration.

WP Engine staff will do it for you..

They will, but for $150 per domain which is crazy. I've read great things, but I am still hunting for hosting....perhaps back to Rackspace.

This is simple stuff, you don't need a plugin or to pay $150.

Just dump your database with:

mysqldump -u root -p DBname > DBname.sql

Archive your files.
wget your files and database on your new vps
Restore the database into one you made on your new host
Unzip your files in the right location
Drink beer

Thanks for that information. I am still waiting to speak with my hosting company (BHW member PowerUp Hosting). As it turns out I have a lifetime license for BB for migration (although it's used for backups). I tried it yesterday between my GD accounts and it worked like a charm. I also know your method and just want say thanks and I don't drink, but my Cola to your Beer

Use a wordpress cloning plugin.

Go to file manager in your godaddy cpanel, zip your wordpress files and download them, go to phpmyadmin and export your database, go to your new hosting account, add the domain, unzip the wordpress files in the root directory of that domain, create a database and add the database credentials to the wp-config.php file, import database, change namerservers in your godaddy account and upload a test.txt file to the root directory of the domain on your new hosting account. visit yoursite.com/test.txt to make sure the transfer is completed. Merry Christmas!!
