For sending out mass emails is it better to use your own domains email or Hotmail, Gmail, Yahoo, etc.? I've heard/believe that your own domain will just categorize your email as spam in others inbox's until they add you to their address book. Would having a Hotmail account remove the chance of having your email being sent as junk/spam? Thanks for the help!

Depends on what SMTP you are using? I've used Gmail and its limited to 500 sends per day and you'll need to have a delay of 1-3 minutes per mail if you aren't trying to get blacklisted.
I've decided to go with Hotmail. Although it won't look as professional as [email protected] it has a higher chance of not getting marked as spam!

Isn't there also the possibility of @yourdomain.com seeming more professional and having a higher conversion rate than one such as gmail/hotmail/yahoo etc.?
Yes I thought the exact same thing, but having a potential customer actually seeing your email is a lot better than them just deleting it from their junk/spam folder.

You may want to research spam filtering in the future, to see if which type of email sending is more profitable if you can bypass the filters on many email sendouts.
