Hi BHW!

I searched google about this issue but i didn't found a good and sure answer, so I am asking BHW which is the best...Here is my problem...

I want to register 4 domains on the same hosting account from hostwinds. Each site will be from a different niche, with different content, and i will not link one domain to another. Can i do this without hurting my SEO, or risk a penalty from Google ?

Thank you.

The fact that they're on the same hosting account won't hurt you directly. There are other factors to consider though, as they'll know you own all 4 sites and if one of them gets penalized, it'll trigger a review on the other 3. And yes you can be penalized even if you do nothing, a competitor can blast your site for example....

I understand. But if i will buy a new hosting account for each domain, but still from the same hosting company (hostwinds for ex.), that would be ok ?

Thank you.

Yeah, you should be ok, but as always it depends on what you're trying to do.

If your intent is hiding your ID, then that's useless as Google is a domain registrar and they know who owns the domain names.

So it depends really. Staying stealthy is very difficult these days.

I don't intent to hide my ID. All I want is to make multiple micro-niche affiliate websites, and i am looking the best way to do this.

Thanks.

I don?t think it will be a problem, but it might be a tad safer if you obtain separate accounts for each domain

The jury is still out on that for me. I've read a number of sources that say if a domain has private Whois, a registrar can only see the registration details of the private records that they hold and not what other registrars hold. I've edited this post, ICANN run a central registry where all details are held, it's unclear to me whether individual registrars can pull information from their database.

Either way, detail fabrication seems the most secure way to go.

You can host multiple domains on the same hosting account if the plan supports it. You can even get dedicated IP for each domain from your hosting provider.

I see no problems here. I have multiple domains in my hosting, and I never had any issues!

Not a problem, if you are using a shared hosting account, chances are that hundreds of other sites would be hosted on the same ip. So, no need to worry about hosting a handful of your own sites there as well.

Thank you all. I think too that is no problem having multiple domains hosted on the same account. Anyway I will try to have only 4 domains for a single account
