You may not have items to sell now, but why not research into some different types of items to sell? Depending on its age and selling history, that type of account is literal gold to someone and it can be to you too. Start researching items that interest you, or that you know a lot about. Then see what sells well on eBay and what doesn't. And finally, you would need to find a source to get those items cheaply. It's not an overnight process, but doing so can net you a business for years.
Yeah you can sell your account for a thousand or so bucks to some random person, but that means you'd probably also be giving up your Paypal account, and your right to sell on eBay. If you ever want to use eBay/Paypal again, then you'd need to go down the stealth route and start all over with brand new accounts and deal with limits and restrictions you never had on your real account. And if you do sell your account, you always have to worry - is the new owner going to do shady stuff with it? Will the new owner change the information like he should? If shady stuff is done with your account with your real information, guess who eBay/Paypal (and possibly the authorities) will look for? Yep, you. Not worth it for a quick buck in my opinion.
