US Phone Numbers for Cold Calling

Hey guys,

I have a question and I was hoping any of you could provide a decent solution.
So basically I am starting cold calling to sell services to small businesses as another alternative income to diversify.
The problem is I am targeting US/UK cities and I am located in Europe. So when I call them, they can see the number coming from my European phone number.
Is there any way to somehow "spoof" the number so it appears as if I am calling from US ?
Or maybe some reliable service online that offers US phone numbers and unlimited calling plans?

Try google voice or skype. You should be able to get a us based number. Another service you can check out is callcentric. It will cost a little but us numbers are available.

You can buy a phone number just about anywhere, and use it for your outgoing caller ID (and, of course, receive calls on it).

Also, RE the unlimited calling plan, I would suggest that you're probably better off paying per minute rates... sounds counter-intuitive, but, consider this:
20 mins talk time per hour, 5 hours a day, will cost you just $3.45 per week in calls if you're calling the US (based on DID logic's rate of $0.0069/min) and just $2.85 per week in calls if you're calling the UK (based on $0.0057/min).

I cannot speak highly enough of DIDlogic - they have multiple points of presence, so when you register your SIP client (softphone or PBX, doesn't matter) you're usually getting very rapid trip times (mostly under 100ms, for me). And, as above, their rates are fantastic, and they just never seem to go offline.

OP: PM me if you need any further help. I have all the time in the world for people who actually take action, and picking up the phone to cold call is taking massive action.

I know about Google Voice and Skype since I have used them before. But the problem is that when dealing with clients, you need to sound as professional as possible and not a cheap ass with a Google Voice number. At least that's my opinion.

You just helped me once again man, thank you a lot!
The rates there do indeed seem pretty good. I was thinking of going with the unlimited plan if it is in the range 20-30$/month, which is very affordable. That would also eliminate the hassle of calculating how much you are spending and worrying if you go over board. But for starters (and even long term I guess) "pay as you go" will do.
