Okay guys, quick update. Still working on the monster update post, but we have put together a tutorial on traffic generation which is going live tomorrow. I'll post a link here, too. This one is probably suitable for more advanced users (ideally needs a few hundred bucks to start) but can also help improve on Google Alerts if you're just starting out with little funds.

Okay. I have edited the OP with a more up to date method of traffic generation that's more efficient than Google Alerts. Even the free way is better than Google Alerts in 2015. I've actually been using the updated traffic generation since 2013 but have only recently made time to write it (with the help of my team). If you are lazy and don't want to scroll back, here's the link. This is a free resource my team put together based on a case study from one of our sites so hope you make some serious $$$ with it.

I have one quick question.
I've found very, very specific niche, it's so small that it has around 5 products on clickbank and they have 0-2 gravity.. But I have a feeling it can work because it's related to popular health food.. but like I said I'm not sure if it'll work out.
I want to buy a domain and make my review site for these products, but if I make domain name related to this niche product and it fails I lose money because I can't change topic of the site.
So do you think domain name related to product is a huge deal? Or if I'm not sure, I should just make generic name and if 1st product fails I just change product and don't have to buy another domain?

You can be quite generic. E.g. if you are making a site around the Paleo diet and you think the trend might die out buy a domain like healthyeatingblog.com (or something similarly generic). You can then use that for a variety of products in the food/health niche. I would avoid making small sites around each niche - it's a lot of effort and you'll waste the links you have spent time building with this method if you move onto a new product/niche.

This thread is good and your original post was great but honestly, this new "update" is just a promo for Buzzbundle and nothing more. Even the "case study" is just a Buzzbundle review. Also it's nothing new, the software was mentioned millions of times in the the thread.

I haven't finished the post yet for the update on the method, this is just part of it regarding traffic generation. Not much point talking about Google Alerts if that's not what I use anymore. I'm sure Buzzbundle has been mentioned many times in the thread - that doesn't mean it doesn't work or would be less effective for someone starting out. I've been doing this method for over 4 years now and that's how we do it.

I get *tons* of PMs about this method from people asking how to get started, so the updated method is a lot more detailed and step by step. I am busy running a business so taking the ~week out of my schedule to put together a new post is a big commitment. Most people don't read the thread either, so I'm also collating the best parts from other people (if you read back a few pages I asked people to PM me their twists). I've yet to hear a better traffic generation method. It's pretty difficult to put together an updated method without mentioning and specific products/brands, so sorry if that offends.

Posting content is a bit of a lose/lose situation: if you're too vague people complain that it's not practical to follow / if I mention a product with a tutorial for it I get told it's too promotional

I can see this working really well with affiliate products. Would you recommend this for a general niche like finance?the main focus is selling products...trying to find a twist for other markets!

Sure, will work with most niches. The only reason I use reviews is they generally convert pretty well. It's better than linking directly to a sales page.

I stopped using Buzzbundle a couple of weeks ago. It just doesn't pick up enough posts, wheras manually searching G picks up everything Buzzbundle does and more.

Good idea..! I don't use both BuzzBundle nor Google Alert. 600K page views per day is massive traffic!

I manually use the standard of Google.com then looking for recent posts / news that indexed in less than 24 hours.

However, you can use BuzzBundle or Google Alert if you wish.

Interesting - we tend to run BuzzBundle first (hated it at first until we ran it off a VPS with proxies for speed) and then if we don't get enough results will manually search. We have enough keywords and campaigns running that we don't necessarily require 100% of posts. We've also found it easier to run centrally and keep track.

How do you keep track of all your searches, accounts and where you've posted?

How do you keep track of all your searches, accounts and where you've posted?

Each account set up has facebook/disqus etc attached to it and a designated email. I only have around 6-8 personas so it's not confusing. If someone replies to a comment, I get an email alert so that keeps tabs on any 'hot' links.
Obv G will tell you in the results if you've already visited a page, which avoids any duplication.
Up until a few weeks ago I was doing the same as you, using buzzbundle then manually searching G, but what I found was it was just quicker to do manual searches rather than both, as G gets you every result that BB does and more.

There is another advantage to using G instead of Buzzbundle - Buzzbundle is popular. Try searching for "weight loss" in facebook threads on buzzbundle, and any fan page post which shows up will have 3 or 4 other affiliate links from people doing the same thing as you are within an hour.

Since Buzzbundle doesn't pick up half of what you will find with a manual search, there will be tons of threads which have not been spammed by buzzbundle users in the search results.

I do agree though, with multiple accounts, multiple sites and multiple campaigns, buzzbundle will make the process a little less painless and less confusing.

That's a fair point. We operate in some quite obscure niches so don't often come up against too many good responses. May have to add the manual search back in as a fail safe. Luckily I have a team to help! Thanks!
