ShipYourEnemiesGlitter is auctioned on flippa!

If this was the stock market it would be the time to sell (buy low, sell high).

He is selling at the best possible time; when the site is in the news & viral.
It's great social proof and bidders get caught up in the hype and bid it up. After
the hype dies down the orders will sinks down to nothing.

Yeah, hats off to this guy. There are tons of such "joke" ideas, but only a few get through. And if you get it through, selling it at this point is the right thing to do. I only think he shouldn't have closed sales, this could have improved the effect and rise the price of the site.

It's extremely rare to have something goes that viral by its own. In my opinion this is not the case/

Kid is smart to unload now.

1. He stopped taking orders on the site and didn't even have an email opt-in to notify people when he was taking orders again.

2. He left a ton of $$ on the table by stopping orders.

3. He lucked out - started as a joke and didn't expect it go blow up. He had no idea how to run the business.

4. There are already copy-cat sites

5. There will be new "ship glitter" sites launching daily because people aren't creative and just copy.

Smart decision to sell. Take the $$ and run.

Stumbled upon this Wikipedia page. Worth a read

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glitter_bombing

Some legal officials argue glitter bombing is technically assault and battery. It is possible for glitter to enter the eyes or nose and cause damage to the cornea or other soft tissues potentially irritating them or leading to infection, depending on the size of the glitter.

Darn, looks like he's BHW marketer as I do see a email opt-in now added on the order page. And I do agree the cash flow might go down rapidly within the next few weeks as a lot of similar sites are popping up and it may stop trending anytime soon.

this kid is incredible smart, if you ask me first of all he plane everything out how did i know i tried to trick hm to know how he got the site to be viral after a long chat and from his explanation he claim to have use product hunt and tweet about it a couple of times i did some reserch and found out it was a total lie, well i wont blame him i would not want to share my idea as well the thing here is he knew how to get it viral in a short period of time using the old kelly felix stlye of abusing people in a cheesy way and have them order then flipp it ASAP before the other clones over take him then probable go to newzeland and spend all the money again looks like every jack pot he wins, he goes there to spend it there

I wonder if all the copy cat sites are making any money? I see them being spammed on all the news articles about the site

I asked four legitimate questions on the listing related to fulfilling orders and traffic/revenue in the last few days and when I woke up the next day they were gone. I assume the seller deleted them.

I would be concerned about due diligence on the deal as the seller seems to not want to answer legitimate questions. More interested in the fame. It's good PR for the buying and selling website industry in general (especially flippa) so I do hope all goes well but I suspect whoever buys this is going to have problems.

Many of you are forgetting simple economics. 100k today is worth more than 100k in a few months.

The media is making it out to be like some 22 year old kid just stumbled into this.

What they fail to mention is this kid is smart. I would also be willing to bet a pile of cash that he is a member here.

He has a SEO company.

He has a IM company.

You can find them in 2 seconds.

Smart kid.

Anyone that believe the "Ohhhhh I had too many orders now I want to sell it" line - please PM me so I can sell you some shit :D

Whoever paid $70K+ for that site just took it deep in the pooper...

NOTE: Didn't want to post this shit while his auction was going on...but yeah, smart kid...

First thing I did when I saw the listing was go read his IM blog. It is pretty bad compared to most others I have read XD

Well he must be doing something right as he managed to create and flip a business in a week or so and manage to get on headlines which then trickled down to his IM company and gave him a nice $85,000.

That's what I've been trying to tell people, second I saw this I did my research on him and stumbled across his IM company. Coincidence? I think not. People are saying he got lucky but in reality what went down was all skill.

I've spoken to Matt over the phone before regarding an interview. He has received some bad press in the past and I guess he's playing on that now. Smart move if you ask me. Yeah he owns a few SEO business names here in Australia.

The guy just got lucky imho. This is nothing innovative, no wheel reinvented. There are plenty of similar sites like s*itsenders etc., there has been one glitter site around I've been watching last year don't remember the domain but nothing close to the spike of traffic this guy's project received. To be honest I agree he just couldn't handle the business. I imagine the amount of traffic has generated so many sales he could not handle.

I've done some research and the profit is not the one he states either, but anyhow this must be a huge issue, easily resolved by increasing the price a bit. He could not run the business period. Who leaves that kind of money on the table for 85k ? Ofc there will be many other similar projects launched as we speak but we are talking luck. Being featured on those media platforms both online/offline explains the spike in traffic. I might as well give this a try but have something else in mind. This type of business can only be ran when you are prepared for loads and loads of work, if you are already busy with other ventures when you get lucky, the luck might translate in just selling something that could be a trend for a while.

He could get sued by http://www.poopsenders.com/ (jk) these guys have been around the block for years. I believe their strategy is to keep silent about their success. They are also offering more options - you can ship Gorilla Poop for 28 bucks and get a combo (1 gallon pack) for $55. Hilarious. I was thinking about getting the combo deal for my previous neighbor who just could not stop listening to his shitty loud pop music during night hours.
