How to get approved for Adsense?

I have a new website for Models, Actors and Dancers. I am interested in getting approved for Adsense. What do I need to know? Is Adsense even profitable anymore?

Content and the nature of the website seems to be the main deciding factor. I'm not sure where Adsense stands on Models, Actors and Dancers. I'm assuming all models are fully clothed? It's also important to note in some countries like India and China your domain age must be at-least 6 months of age.

For getting adsense approval, You only need site with unique ideas and contents which must not be rewritten from any source.

I read it recently on a blog post regarding getting approval from Adsense, I certainly can't confirm if it's true or not. I don't believe I am able to post links as of yet either.
