What made you get into IM?

For me I read the 4Hr Work Week.

What made me stay was using a premium article spinner to do a 20 page report in under 2 days for my final exam in college and getting an A.

I felt like a genius.

What you've learned is that hard work doesn't pay and learning doesn't pay. These are precisely the 2 things that are vital in IM. Learn, work hard, work smart, repeat.

This reminds me of a story. When I was in middle school, I remember telling a teacher that you could make money online and the teacher laughed at me saying, "the Internet can only be used for learning and reading the news, you can't make money online. How would that even work, anyway"? The teacher, along with the whole class laughed at me for having such a "stupid idea". Two years later I made half a thousand dollars online in only 2 weeks. She was right about one thing, though. The Internet can be used for learning... Learning how to make money online!

First there is money, then you start thinking how otherwise this job fulfills you. Because, lets be honest, no one would build 20 authority sites, 50 facebook accounts because "it`s fun". For me those other things are working for my self and reaping all the benefits of my own work, freedom and I also feel satisfaction of "building something big" when I go along with my projects.

Best type of business during university. After university who knows what I'll do, but at least I've had my own company for over/nearly five years then, should I go all the way to getting an MBA.

Edit: So yeah, if that didn't clear it up enough, I started during my senior year in high school, because I had some extra time and IM was easy to get into and gradually build up experience.

When your scammy facebook pages are long gone and you're back flipping burgers and telling stories about how you used to bank big and cheat the system I'll be in my high rise overlooking the NYC skyline that I've earned through building real sustainable businesses. I've known dozens of people like you over the years that think they're on top while they're exploiting some loophole only to realize that the game doesn't last forever and they actually knew nothing about business in the first place.

And besides. As much as you like to think you work smart. Try walking away from your type of business for 6 months without working and see how much you keep earning. You have to work your ass off just to keep ahead of whatever site you're spamming with scammy junk. I could get on a plane and not touch a computer for 6 months and when I came back my bank account would have increased substantially.


You can then remind yourself of your cheap rhetoric about "smart work" and how cheating is the way to go.

You may frown on me but you realize alot of people make their entire living off the effort of others who get no kick back for it? Look at Tosh 2.0 - all their material comes from reddit. They learned other people will make the content, worked hard to capitalize on that using network television, branded themselves as the brand who has their finger on the pulse of viral videos and earn millions for it.

So I'm proud of it because it helped me pass a course I paid for out of pocket during a very trying point in my life. It was proof to me that I'm more capable and resourceful handling a lot of crap in my life all at once and succeeding enough to maybe get paid better than a warehouse worker. I put more effort into the paper than it seems because it was on holistic medicine and I'm really interested in that but even if that wasn't the case overall it taught me more than anything my years of being a A-B student in school ever did.

No one whose learned hard work doesn't pay and learning doesn't pay would even be here. Those things aren't conducive to a life as a business owner.

My lifestyle, I felt so useless piece of shit, because I had a lot of spare time, no job or school or social life anymore. So I had to do something about it, needed to make something productive in my life.

I just can't stand any 9 to 5 (which is usually to 6 or 7) job. I just can't. It doesn't matter what job, what field, what pay. I feel miserable knowing that everyday of my life is gonna be that.

In IM I may work more hours, but every day is different and what is more important I have the feel (maybe the illusion) that I can choose. I can choose what to do, when to do it and how to do it.
