Local SEO - Silo Structuring For Small Metro Areas

All the examples of silos structuring are top down builds where the top of the silo is the hardest target keyword and the bottom is the long-tail keywords. But in local SEO, your target keywords are often long tailed.

What happens if you?re targeting a localized keyword that has no suburbs ? only neighboring cities? How would you structure the silo for optimal results? Let?s say my target keyword phrase is ?Boise dry cleaning.? The neighboring cities are Meridian, Eagle, Nampa and Caldwell.

How the heck do you build this silo knowing that you want to rank for all the above: ?Boise dry cleaning?, ?Meridian dry cleaning?, ?Eagle dry cleaning?, etc.?

Any insight would be amazing ? thank you in advanced!

Make sure the site is picked up as being about {region} dry cleaners. Then you create a subsection for each of those cities(probably a separate directory or subdomain, like www.example.com/cityA then /cityB etc). If you do the linking work for "{region} dry cleaners" correctly, you probably won't need to target each of those 4 towns specifically with a whole new linking structure. Google can pick that relation up on its own. Also, if each city has an office, make sure to add that office to Google Places and make sure the map on each subsection mentions that geolocation specifically. Hope this helps!

If the top of the silo were structured with /boise-dry-cleaner, how do you incorporate the other cities in the silo. "Meridian dry cleaner" has no contextual relation to Boise nor Eagle nor Nampa. I'm not sure if this answered my questions from the intended perspective of building a silo structure for local SEO in a small area.

if each city has an office

No multiple locations - just one office. Each of these cities are about a 5-7 minute drive from one another.
