I might be wrong, but in my opinion it?s not a genuine .gov link as it redirect to an external (non .gov?) site

It?s not something that I?ll put on my personal/customers money sites

The link to your site, will be on the external (non gov?) site, not on the .gov site...

The gov always lies to you, so when you think you got a backlink from a .gov, you actually dont.

not sure about edu backlinks though, some say its useful, some say it isnt worth buffalo shit on a nickel.

Spam is spam. If you're site is not relevant to this, it's considered spammy.
