And i only generate summary of articles.

Man~~why no other men here have this proble, anyone really use wp-o-matic? I feel i was fooled.

He probably didnt really sue him

Just probably a threat to do so.

You have to know certain ways to handle people like that.

I have never had a problem.

LOL... That guy probably just made empty threats and probably does not have thousands and thousands of dollars to go after you..

Just tell him to stop publishing his RSS feeds for the world to pull and the problem will stop..:)

Yes, I use wp-o-matic.

I have currently received 2 request to remove feeds. I just comply and remove them from my site.

However both times I have asked if I can use an excerpt from their site and give a link back. Both sites have said yes they have no problem with that.

So then you can switch over to autoblogged which allows you to get the rss feed and limit how many words to post.

The problem is not WP-O-Matic.... its the fact that you are publishing his entire feed on your blog... any plugin that does the same will get you threats in return from angry bloggers.

Title is misleading. Not WP-O-Matic's fault inherently.

Stealing full content should made other people angry,I believe you will be upset too when somebody steal your gold mine.

Don't blame WP-O-Matic, just follow other poster above to limit description and link back to original site and you'll be fine.

I suppose it depends on your location weather he can Sue you or not, fortunately where I am they cannot

I have gotten 2 requests to remove content.

I am publishing the RSS Feed, and it links to their page if someone clicks on the post title.

I told them to s*** my n**s. Well actually i just didnt reply.

Nobody is going to sue you, it costs way too much money.

I'm pretty sure they legally cant sue you. They are publishing and syndicating their RSS feed. I'm pretty sure wp-o-matic isnt violating any copyright law here. And if they go after you their going to have a hell of a time winning the case.

As others have said, just use excerpts or remove that particular feed. Nothing to be worried about.

I just put this code snippet into the parseItemContent function near the beginning, after the $content variable was assigned (should be around line 696)

Code:
    // Added by Rick S. - This snippet limits the length content retrieved to
    // the first third or the first 1000 characters, whichever is greater.
    // (I'm trying to be fair to the original author.)
    $cutoff = 1000;
    $for_more = "";

    if (strlen($content) > $cutoff) {
        $cutoff = max($cutoff, strlen($content)/3);

        $next_blank = strpos($content, ' ', $cutoff);

        if ($next_blank !== false) {
            $cutoff = $next_blank + 1;
            $for_more = "...";
        }
    }

    $content = substr($content, 0, $cutoff) . $for_more;
    // There, now the content is nicely excerpted and
    // no one should really complain ... but I know they still do. :-/

That should help with automatically creating excerpts.

check out the recreate techchuck blog post and it talks about shortening things

You know I have removed all wp-o-matic from my blogs, and now I am spending hours and hours to remove those posts created by P-O-MATIC.

Why, because it take high risks, the email I got is an angry man who claim he will suit me if I don't remove thoe post, and people here should know one thing:

"I EVEN NOT PUT THE WHOLE ARTICLE ON MY BLOG, I USE A CUSTOMIZED WP-LIMIT-POST-AUTOMATICALLY PLUGIN TO MAKE ALL MY POSTS DISPLAY ONLY ABOUT FIRST 3 SENTENCES OF THE ARTICLES "

I mean, you will never know who you deal with, and surely you will get more and more warning after your posts get indexed more.

I just think it's not worth to use wp-o-matic, even you just post the summary of articles, but the dup filter will shows you thet are the same articles, maybe most owners won't care about it, but how if you piss off those 1% people?

Even they can't suit you, but how about they tell Google? Maybe they just did! Just wait for google's reply, so I suggest you guys remove every posts generated by wp-o-matic, even you just fetch the summaries, you still have risks.

If someone tell google about it, and google really review their email and find that post on your blogs, then whta will happen next?

Will google contact you and tell you that you should remove that post? HELL NO, THEY WILL CLOSE YOUR ADSENSE ACCOUNT RIGHT AWAY!

I just want to tell you guys because I know auto blog is a hard work, you spent so much time and gradually have some results, don't let a little thing ruin all your efforts!

Will CC cause the same problem?

I have automaticblog, I know that won't.

If CC does the same, I may drop them, too.

If your really only using the first few lines, giving proper attribution, and providing a link back, I doubt they have a case to sue you anyway. Your "reporting" news, and that's fair use. Its legal. (Although im not a lawyer so take that for just my opinion)

I am a Chinese so I am not familiar with how American deal with things. So I just decide to be more careful.

And I also find that unique domain bring more results but much slower then create blogs under one domain. And I am now doing both two methods.

And dot com domain seems like bring more profit(although I still make about $7/day only and last month I earn only $4.5/day)

I have one blog doesn't use wp-o-matic, I only generate articles from articlemarketingautomation.com and automaticblog plugin, the content is enough to get indexed(although I still don't knw how to use tags to bring more traffic)

I also found older domain bring more results and more related ads. So it's not necessary to use wp-o-matic to generate content fast because anyway it still takes time to make a unique domain profitable.

I also make many blogs under one domain, it makes about $20-30/month, and it takes much more work and it sometimes cause the hosting account down. The good thing is it makes you income much faster than one blog per domain.

So I guess I will make hundreds of blogs in near future, if I don't delete those posts and plugins that cause me problem, I think I will be crazy on removing this and that from hundreds of blogs next next month.

So why not remove them right now? It takes less time, that's what I think about.

If you are a Chinese person residing in China, I doubt you have ANYTHING
to worry about as far as US legal matters go.

Currently, almost 90% of all piracy related to texts, audios, and videos
(digital formats only) has been tracked into China. Of that 90%, virtually
NONE of those cases have been even followed up on, as China essentially
tells the US (and the rest of the world) to "Go F&%@ Off".

Have you heard of the US refusing any Chinese imports due to embargo as
a means of exacting payments for fines levied in the ICJ (International Court
of Justice) regarding any International Free Trade Agreement (IFTA) violations?

Nope. Not even a whisper.

Think Microsoft is worth lots now? They'd be worth almost twice as much
if paid royalties for their software packages that are used illegally from
within China. The balancing point: Microsoft keeps their costs down by
using cheaper-than-all-hell labor from China to develop and update their
software, helping to offset their piracy losses.

If Big Bad M$ isn't going into China to drag intellectual property thieves out
into the light of justice, what 2 buck chump of a blogger stands a rats ass
chance in hell of even getting into your country, much less being given a
legal standing?

So long as your WHOIS data is either:
A) Bogus Identity (web persona), or
B) Privately Registered,

you would be unlikely to even encounter problems regarding travel to the
US for business or pleasure.

In short, tell the jerk to suck a stubby Chinese dick. He permitted syndication
within a highly dynamic and transferable format, and can only expect to
cease syndication form this point forward. He has no authority to try to make
you erase what has already be published irreversibly throughout the internet. Tell
them to sue Archive.org for their Wayback Machine copy, and Google, MSN,
Yahoo (and all the other indexing services) for their database copies and server
caches, or they are subject to a lawsuit in US Superior Courts for racial discrimination,
on top of felony charges for the embargoing of information not sanctioned or conducted
strictly in accordance with US State Department published policies and procedures.

DO you put the owner backlink?
i think its okay since you put his backlink too

Every once in a while you get someone who freaks out when you autoblog a paragraph from one of their posts. It's often these same people who don't realize the value of a link and some traffic. The best solution is always to be courteous and remove the post.

Generally a small excerpt with attribution is considered fair use, but that doesn't mean they can't try to sue you. Most autoblogs are no different than Google news and if they managed to not get shut down with lawsuits I wouldn't worry about it.

We have set up hundreds of autoblogs and we rarely have any problems anymore. Here are some tips for avoiding problems:

1. Always make it clear that the article is from another site and give them credit and a link.

2. Provide an About page and a footer note that the articles are from other sites and give people a way to contact you to opt out from your blog. This tip inspired us to put a URL blacklist in AutoBlogged so you can put site urls there if someone chooses to opt out. AutoBlogged also lets you set the user agent string where you can put a message about opting out.

3. Use a well-designed theme to make your site look professional and not spammy.

4. Don't take too many posts from one RSS feed. Use the RSS results from a google blog search to pull from a variety of sites.

5. If you really want to use a lot of posts from one feed, it doesn't hurt to ask the author for permission. Our '09 autoblog contest winner asked over 40 sites to publish full articles and they all gave permission.

6. Don't bother spinning or rewriting the articles. Small excerpts from different sites won't get you any dupe content penalties and too often spinners just make your site look lame.

7. Focus on a specific niche and carefully filter your articles to get quality posts so your site doesn't look spammy.
