Copying Images will lead to duplicate content?

Hey presently I am making niche sites and writing the whole content after researching from different sites.

Since I am writing everything myself, the content is 100% unique and i checked it on copyscape it found no duplicate pages at all.

Its high quality content. I am spending some good time on it.

But to make content interesting I am getting images from google images and uploading them on my wordpress blog.

Ofcourse they are duplicate images (no i cant create images on my own that would be almost impossible, I'm not a photographer)

I am concerned if using duplicate images taken from other sites will hurt my rankings? Will it attract duplicate content penalty?

Content is 100% unique but only the images are scraped.

I do change the image pixel size a bit before uploading.

I tried adding watermark , compressing adding few colors to image. none helps it is still detected as copy in "tineye".

Any ideas? do i need to worry for images or not?

I use Images in Flickr, use pictures like 2012 below. But i dont know, maybe because my site is new thats why im not getting in trouble. Waiting for experts reply too

Nah, it won't. Google can't detect whether if two images are the very same image.

And you worry about images, nope, you won't face any problem because of the images. Moreover, you can easily use photoshop actions to change any picture in seconds and it would be unique

I did some research on it and found on many blogs that no google doesn't impose any penalty for duplicate content on images. Not yet.

If it will then it would be very much against the entire social sharing network and almost every site is affected as creating unique images is not possible in all cases.

Think of a site like pinterest lol which has nothing but images from other sites.

Regarding detection, even after doing a lot of changes google can easily detect duplicates via reverse engineering or something.

Try any image on your site to find its other copies (even after photoshopping it) on http://tineye.com

If this site can do, mighty google can definitely do.

If Google detects and punishes sites with copied images, the whole stock photo industry won't exist anymore. Don't think that will happen. Just focus on the content you use, and you'll be fine.

I guess the general agreement is that it doesnt matter. I was interested in the answer as well.
Maybe its still best to change the name of the image, add alt text and so on?

I guess its not unthinkable that Google might take some steps to determine if images are unique - afterall, that would add to the value of the content for the reader in the same way that unique text would?

Give the proper credits and only use images you're aloud to use. Yes, Google can check where an image was first published. There's software to removed these footprints.

Images can be detected similar really. Even Google has similar image search technology in public as well. But I believe it does not penalise duplicate images .

Just make sure to check the content that it is embedded in when you lookup a picture on google.
When you see that it's inside a blog post which has the exact same topic as your content, dismiss it and look for another.
Also whatever you do, always change the picture's name so it becomes truly unique.

You will not be penalized for "duplicate images" as you call them, but you can get in trouble for using other people's images that do not fall under Creative Commons license. It all depends on what you're using them for, too.

If you want to give yourself a little SEO boost, rename all your images with keywords related to your niche. For example, one image might be named "how-to-lose-weight-fast" or "how-to-lose-weight-on-tummy." Be sure you use underscores or hyphens between words, rather than spaces.

Yes i always crop the image a little, change title and add alt text before i upload them. I did similar images search for the new image i upload on google and google easy detects the visually similar images and almost all of them. So i think its difficult to cheat google there.

But since there is no penalty for using duplicate images, I'll focus more on content. Yes I use only relevant images in my niche.

A good way to test you image is to upload it directly into Google Sreach Image https://images.google.com/ .

If they find an exact match, it will be an exact match for them too;
If not, it can be similar but shouldn't be impacted by that.

Future update of Google might be the image duplicate check, cause as far as I know, Google hate duplicate content. And that would kill a lot of automated websites. I think they'll do it, it's good for their search engine honestly. So yeah, get your own image or reworked image and you'll be good in any case.
