Hey guys I'm making an authority site to get back into IM, I had an authority site a few years back but ended up selling it. Now I want to get back into IM and I'm creating another authority website.

However, I dont really know the best way to use facebook.

If I made a facebook page what would be the best way to get it likes and grow it naturally? Or would it be better to use facebook ads to drive traffic?

I'm also using pinterest and trying to grow my account manually.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

So theres no point of make a facebook page and building it up for traffic? What other sites would you suggest? twitter? Instagram?

use facebook ads for targeted quality traffic

Facebook made it where your posts only reach a small percentage of your users until they engage on it. And it will SLOWLY reach other.
But the problem is if your post goes to say a bot, they won't engage and therefore more people won't see it.

Even if you promote your page through their system, you'll still get bots.

I have 3,300+ people on my page, 25% organic, 75% FB ads, and I get about 20-150 reach per post?

on my authority website my only source of revenue is going to be adsense, I'm assuming facebook ads would not be worth it then? But some of you are also saying that its not really beneficial to put in the work to build up a facebook page in your niche?

It's always a plus to have a page, will reach a few people, but don't expect to drive traffic from that page if you don't pay.
Well targeted, traffic can be cheap. But it's not free. Go with pinterest / twitter / tumblr

Thanks a lot for the help, my blog is in the health/fitness niche so I've been trying to grow a new pinterest account I made, however I haven't gotten any followers since I started a couple of days ago. I have been repinning a lot, pinning some stuff from the internet and following some people.

As for twitter I'm assuming following people in the same niche as you would be the best way to gain followers.

Didn't think about using tumblr but I'm making an account right now, have not used it before so not sure on how I would grow it.

Check out fiverr for twitter retweets from some big accounts. I have bought a few retweets from the health niche, you don't necessarily get a lot of followers, but you do get a lot of interaction on the tweet. My theory is, if you keep buying retweets from the same person, eventually you will get followers because they will start to view you as an authority in the niche.

dunno, I think pages are still effective. If I post on my 50k like pages or something around that I always get nice reach.
Also through sharing and liking (if you have this on your page though) you can build them up fast.

As for ads, it's easy to have a good ROI.

Might be everything has been better, but as for now, 2015, facebook as traffic provider is not dead.

If you still want to use Facebook try adding people on a dozen or two accounts related to niche keywords and build up fake accounts with thousands of friends.

That way you will be able to reach all of them each and every time you post an update.

If you pretend to care about your fake friends you can engage with them and get more clicks as you build trust.

Pages no longer grow naturally unless they're charities, churches, etc. Anything slightly commercial will be throttled to oblivion. It's just how FB works these days. You'll need to buy boosts for your posts to get old style reach.

Yep, the days of making fan pages and relying on organic traffic to get visitors to your site are over.

Reach is horrible unless you take the time to master fb ads.

Did you buy your 50k like pages or start from scratch?

Also a question for everyone, any tips on how to get more followers on twitter and pinterest?

I use slacksocials starter pack wich costs 7$ a month to mass post to groups. You should only use one post for 10 groups, otherwise facebook will block it. I post about 1 time a day to 35 groups and I get 500 visitors / day to my adsense blog.

But thats only 5€ a day for me (german traffic), I already tried with CPA offers from adscendmedia, and I only got 1 lead so far (1,25$)
