Hi All.

I'm getting repeated offers in the region of $500 - $2500 dollars for a Facebook page I own.

I have never found a way of making money from this page. These people (or bots?) obviously know a way of monetising it.

It has a following of 200k, mostly younger people.

So my questions are these;

How can I monetise this page myself?
What am I missing that these people offering large sums for the page know about?
Or are they scammers trying to get the page for nothing?

Any information to demystify these puzzling offers will be appreciated.

Thanks!

1. Make a website.
2. Put adsense on it.
3. Post links to the website from your Facebook page.
4. Profit.

I'd sell it if I were you. $2500 is a good price, especially if you're making nothing from it at the moment.

Just out of interest...What's your weekly reach like? I mean how much of that 200k see your posts
Also what are your insights like... which countries are most page fans from?
There must be some potential if people are throwing offers.
$2500 is a nice amount for a fb page, but it's a better value than building a 200k page from scratch.
I would be gone on small holiday and the money would disappear faster than I reach my destination.

If you had the free time & interest... it would be worth trying to monetize it yourself before selling it.
It depends alot on the subject of the page.
And the problem with a young audience sometimes is they may be more active with the page
but have less cash and less access to easy use of a credit card.
So I would agree with treeof, the best way might be to build a website - $10 - $400..... or more depending what you want.
Then make it interesting enough for your audience to want to visit and interact, fill it with quality content and set it up adsense.

Then how much will you make from adsense per month? Will it be worth all the effort........

you need to bulid blog to monetized the page, and sell in flippa, maybe will worth more than $10000..

These people will not pay you for your pages they will STEAL your pages........... They will ask to be manager admin then they will remove you....... I get them asking me all the time they say they will pay via paypal but I say 'CASH ONLY' then they give up asking......... Having said that some people will actually meet you and pay cash I know people that have done this......... GOLDEN RULE IS CASH ONLY...... If they want the page they will come to meet you and if they live in a different country they will have to jump on a plane

I don't agree with the jump a plane thing. But yeah, most of these are scammers. I once lost a big 150K likes page like this. Fucking scammers

Try monetizing yourself with. Check out ViperChill's post on this. If this doesn't work then sell it.

If they are offering you $2500 without knowing the link reach, demographics and other relevant data, it's most likely a scam. They would pay you by paypal and once you transfer the page to them, they'll do a credit card chargeback.

You can monetize it with fromote.. search for them on google

Almost 99% of the time high offer = scam.
Collect 1st via a method that can't be charged back, if the buyer is serious he will oblige. Everyone else will run.

Thanks all so much for your feedback.

Very useful indeed.

I am inspired to create a relevant blog relevant to the subject matter and use adsense as a revenue.

The problem that I have is that the subject matter of the page is highly seasonal and I will have to wait until next year until I can successfully make money from this.

Anyway - this has got me interested in Social Media Marketing - it's not an area that I've ventured into before. Always been a SEM guy, time to diversify I think.

Thanks again, Wayne :)

Why don't you put some CPA offers on there and see how it goes. The success depends a lot on what niche/countrys the fans are from.A shortcut blackhat method is to do revshare with people who are offering you to buy the pages and simply copy what they are doing.
