Bought a domain & bought hosting.
Also have a tumblr, instagram & twitter.
I followed established experts & real people in my beauty niche so I can see how they use these platforms and emulate that. Looks like tumblr is posting pretty pictures, instagram is craptons of selfies, & twitter still confuses me. I'll be logging how active I am on each of these platforms and see how it relates to my follower growth & conversion rate. It's important to me that all of these are genuine, real people, so I'm not going to bother with that buying followers bull and let growth happen naturally.
The website making me rage, because the nameservers weren't working properly and after hours of toying with it I assumed it was just delay. Then a day later I come to find out it isn't delay, the nameservers just never saved. So frustrating when it's something that stupid. I feel like I wasted so much time that I could've spent writing.
I wrote most of a review for an amazon product. I queued it to post in January. It's something I actually bought & use (and love! Feels nice and looks pretty). I'm gonna try for 15 posts throughout January, and I'm going to try to write most of them in advance so they're ready.
On top of reviews, I'm also going to post original articles on tips and tricks (how often to replace this product, this product vs that product, how to use this product for this purpose, etc.)
I'm a little nervous about how well this will work out when college starts back up. I'm working on my Business Administration degree, am working the 9-5 full time, and need to be keeping up with articles. They take me about 2-3 hours to complete, not to mention the time coming up with the concept. They're original, in-depth and high-quality so hopefully even if I only end up adding 2 or 3 a month it will still have long-term benefits. On the bright side I do have one art class where I'll be able to create whatever I want, so I can create some cool things for either the website or at the very least my social media profiles.
So far I'm having a lot of fun with this! I'm learning a lot about the different platforms and the way they work, plus I've started making friends in the community.

For your website, are you planning on procuring traffic organically through search engines with your SEO endeavours, using your social media presence that you're currently building to promote your website, or both?

Some idiotic domains have that problem for some reason, I've never understood why. Try adding it to your hosting first, and then save the nameservers again, if you're still having problems.
I plan on using exclusively social media to grow traffic. I think it's more powerful and has higher conversions. Although it will take a little longer to grow, hopefully this strategy means it will grow strong. I'll have some SEO strategies in place, but it well be things like meta titles. And of course I'll write around buyer keywords.
