Yep, I agree with reedhawk, even if the shoutouts are from big accounts they won't really bring you as many followers as you may think

I disagree, it depends on who the shoutout is from. I have received 5$ shoutouts that generate any from 20-200 followers. I also have heard of 30$ shoutouts that can bring in 3,000 followers. It all depends on how targeted the following is and how active they are.

I'm trying to spend as little as possible.. It might be selfish but I want to try and get big without really paying anything. I got a friend with 30k twitter followers in the same niche. I might get a shoutout on his twitter for free.
